Wow. I wouldn't have expected anybody to touch Fam Guy's record. I guess Futurama is really expanding. Maybe there is a resurection in the future of Futurama. It has been rumored.....

Excellent! I always felt that Futurama was underrated (when compared to Family Guy)

stuff like this makes we wish they did weekday rating cards :) would it be so hard for them to do that anyway?
Very cool news for Futurama. I'm glad to see people are watching it as much as they are. Hopefully high ratings like this will keep the thoughts of doing something with Futurama alive.
Lovely news. No show deserves resurrection more than Futurama, so perhaps this will somehow help . . . maybe.

Good for Futurama!
I doubt I was watching that night.
Anyone know which episode it was?

I believe it was "Time Keeps On Slippin," one of my favorites.

Eh, I've always liked Futurama better. But Family Guy can be so hilarious at times. . .

It's like this:
Family Guy is non-stop funny.
Futurama is funny with a few stops, but those stops include plot lines, characters you care about, and beautiful scenery.
I'd take the second, if you please.

Those numbers make sense. Family Guy is losing steam and Futurama is stealing that momentum. Who knows, maybe we'll see Fox reconsider its decision on Futurama as well?

WTF, NO! FG is getting more popular by the day. There's no way in hell it is losing steam. When FG returns it's gonna be the next big thing!

I doubt it. Fox cancelled Futurama cause they thought it was too dark and didn't get it. Not cause the ratings were bad. For it's 7:00 deathslot on Sundays the ratings were pretty good.

No, people. Give it up.While I understand where you're coming from, I fail to see what's so wrong about letting people have a little hope. If people had such an attitude with Family Guy after it's last Cancellation then there wouldn't be a new season coming out next year.
The way I see it, if the show's creator Matt Groening hasn't given up on a revival of the series...why should the fans?

I thought someone from the show said they HAD given up on the possiblity of a revival, hence the hope destruction.
Though maybe it was from Fox or CN or something.

From a September 22nd interview with Groening by Entertainment Weekly:
Reruns get great ratings on the Cartoon Network. Any chance of a ''Family Guy''-like resurrection for ''Futurama''?
We're trying to figure it out. If we can do more episodes, we'd love to. It's a very ambitious show, and it's very expensive. That's been a sticking point. What [co-developer] David Cohen and I would love is to continue many of the stories we worked out in advance. All science-fiction epics have an underlying theme, which is ''things are not what they seem to be,'' and that was certainly the case with ''Futurama.'' David and I worked for a couple of years [planning the show] before we even pitched it, and we haven't revealed all of the secrets that are embedded in it. There are even characters that we created back in the beginning of the series that we never got around to introducing. It looks like a goofy cartoon, but the underlying science-fiction ideas are pretty good.
CN can't pay for the show themselves, and Fox really hasn't said anything about the topic since Family Guy's return was announced.
