Hey all!
I can honestly say I am blessed with the best Grandmother anyone could ask for, and I adore her. I'm a man, and I'm not afraid to say I love my grandmother. That's right!
Anyhow, she has made mention over the years of one particular film and I've decided to ask you guys and gals for help in identifying it. Here's what she's told me:
-The film stars Doris Day.
-The plot involves Doris' character going off to school (to become an actress) and returning home only to find out that her mother gave up their home and began working in a seedy nightclub as a singer in order to pay Doris' tuition. When she sees her mother kissing the heads of old men in her act, Doris breaks down and orders her mother to never again do such a thing.
Why does my grandmother love this film? Doris Day's sobbing was enough to bring her to tears herself (awwwwww).
Not that I'm looking to make my Grandmother cry, mind you...I just want her to be able to relieve a touching memory. So any help you could provide would be much appreciated. Oh, and I didn't put this in the DVD forum since she only has a VCR.
On her behalf, thank you.
