About the Show:
Betty is a little girl with a big secret. To her friends and classmates, she is a sweet and brainy kid with an odd habit of disappearing on short notice. But to the rest of the galaxy, she is Atomic Betty: Galactic Guardian and Defender of the Cosmos! Together with her alien co-pilot Sparky and her trusty robot X-5, Atomic Betty rockets into action, confronts a new evil menace, saves the universe...and gets home just in time for algebra class.

Well, these episodes were a lot better than the first two IMO. We get to see some of Betty's super powers and Sparky's as well. I think the funniest moment was in that Science Fair episode where some of the fish people(Okay I can't spell their real name... ) were ready to fight Maximus Iq but they just got snatch just like that.

seeing atomic betty with her outfit modified into ehm, scuba gear.. i'd imagine that'd be impossible unless she wasn't going to be there very long, without air hoses and all she'd just breathe the same lungful trapped in that helmet until she passed out. the vocal distortion wasn't bad.
but the fish cranes grabbing the fish , were pretty cool things, though.

I dunno... I've seen that "free-moving sidekick forces main protagonists to beg for forgiveness before letting them free from restraining device" MANY MANY times before.

Oh yeah. I don't think it was intended to break new ground, but I enjoyed the episode anyway :)

The animation seemed nicer (not surprising, since the amount animation available should increase with every episode in library-based system,) the storyboarding seemed a little better (the action was more action-y,) but I'm still not feeling the story. It's just not firing me up, particularly the earth bound b-plots.
Sorry Ridd.
I think it was decided early on that the Earth plots are always going to be a little less involved than the space ones. Space is where the action is, space is where the more interesting characters and environments are. Space is where Betty (and I assume the audience) prefers to be. That said, I think everyone here was/is pretty aware of how important the Earth stories are as well. We definitely didn't want to treat them as just simple, token b-plots. Betty's interactions with Noah, Penelope and her parents are just as (if not more) important as her interactions with Sparky, X-5 and DeGill as far as character development goes. As you watch you'll find the complexity of the Earth stories do vary from show to show, but for the most part they are like I said decidedly less involved.
oh...and about the whole breathing underwater with only a lungful of air debate... alien technology is an amazing thing! ;)

I definately see how the earth plots do shape who Betty is more than anything else. Her homelife is a huge factor on how the girl handles her space missions.
