My final decision for my new console...

Over the past few months I have been controversing over PS2 or XBox, but I have finally decided to get niether. I'm getting either a PSX or a PS1 (depending on which is cheaper). Truth be told, I don't have the time, space, or money for a PS2, and considering the 3 games I most want are on the PSX/PS1, I might as well just get that. The three games I'm getting are Final Fantasy Chronicals (for Chrono Trigger), Metal Gear Solid, and Final Fantasy 7. I'm gunna go check out GameStop.com right now.

PS2's are 150 dollars (I assume you live in the U.S) and plays both PS2 and PS1 games. I'd recommend that you get that if you have to choose. Plus you never know if there are games from this generation that you might want to get.

I bought my PS2 mainly for playing DVDs and PS1 games. I really didn't buy any actual PS2 games for about a year after I owned it, unless you count Crazy Taxi, which I bought from my brother for real cheap. So, I would definitely go with PS2 over PS1.
