All those who whine about "games ain't what they used to be, they used to be origina;, they used to be challanging they used to be, etc."

The argument is now moot main reason being Katamari Damacy. a game while simplistic in nature(you roll a ball collecting every day stuff) is also a challange.

You have to make the ball bigger, the way by going about this is to have it connect with everyday items to make it grow bigger, including cars, boulders, trees, etc.

depending on how your ball grows in shape and size you have to plan out where to roll it next

and the soundtrack is good...

it's a fully fleshed out original concept that has been exicuted well...

and it's only 20 bucks

Katamari Damacy is the coolest thing since sliced bread. If you're lucky enough to find a copy, buy it. You won't be disappointed.

I'm having a heck of a time trying to find the game.

I should be able to get ahold of a copy soon. This sounds very interesting, and I'm always looking for games that take creative chances. Plus, I like to support less-than-mainstream games from Japan that get brought here. I'm not the type who likes Japanese games that are weird for the sake of being weird, but this game (and others like it) seem to offer some great original ideas, even if they come in a weird package.

I think this is the best game that came out this Month.

I also know, that I am one of six people that got this in my whole area. Out of all the Gamestops, EBs and even places like Frys and Wallmart, only six copies made it to my town. I know because each EB and Gamestop got one copy and Frys, Wallmart, Toys r Us, and Target didn't get any in at all. I live around San Diego too, it's not like I'm in the middle of nowhere.

Get out there, find it, it's amazing.

The Gamestop I work at is only getting three in and the same happened with Guilty Gear X2 #Reload and Gungrave: Overdose for us last week. And they don't fly off shelves, but I still suggest grabbing Katamari Damacy asap because it's hard telling how long it will stay on the shelf and for $20 you can't pass it up.

In situations like this, where there are relatively few copies shipped and they sell very quickly, do they usually print more copies? It seems that when there's a very limited release like this, word spreads quickly, and people's curiosity about the game grows. So it would seem that shipping more copies would be a good idea, but then again, there's always the chance that something like this will sit on the shelves for a long time, as the weird premise and Japanese name will turn a lot of people off.

I understand it's always hard to gauge whether or not something like this will sell, but it's really unfortunate for those who want a copy and can't get one.

My local Funcoland had two copies left when I checked the store today, with me picking up a copy, as I had some extra money.

Put up or shut up time: What's your biggest katamari?

I got 848m35cm on Make the Moon, and 189 countries during the credits

Well, while visiting Gamestop to pick up Evil Genius (which wasn't there yet, lazy ingrates) I happened to stumble across this sitting out of place at the ps2 rack. Since a friend of mine was kind enough to give me a $27.49 trade-in recipt I thought, "What the hell!". Its been a quite a while and I'm loving every minute, this is possibly the best impulse buy I've ever made. Only gripe I have is that the controlls are a bit weird at first (only figured out how to steer right at the 4th level), but geez this game is dang near perfect!

You can "suck up" people with your ball, right?

I just played through it, and I had a blast. Seeing your Katamari progress from picking up thumb tacks to picking up islands over the course of the game is a great experience. We think the surreal Japanese flavor of the game is very entertaining, yes We do. I'm still humming the music. Just great all around.

Making the constellations Ursa Major and whatever the cow one is has been frusturating, but still fun. Just when I get my Katamari big enough to pick up a respectable sized bear or cow, I accidentally grab a bear carving or a milk carton. Argh.

This game sounds absolutely insane. :D

Shame it's for PS2. Guess I'll have to stick to WarioWare for insane Japanese goodness...

GRAAARGH!! All you people who just casually picked this game up or found it just lying around drive me crazy. It's not for sale anywhere I look and I live near like 20 game stores!

I finally found this game at my local Gamestop after looking for a couple weeks and picked it up today. I love it, I want the soundtrack now!
