Shorter: In Cleveland, one of the promotions to get people to donate blood is a coupon. Give a pint of blood, get a pint or whatever drink you want (even beer!) in return. Brilliant!

BTW, I understand what the person says about preferring to get blood via donation rather than reward. I admit, I have never donated blood and I probably never will until I hit 30 or so. As a poor college kid, I need money, and donating plasma pays.

We have that on my campus too. I can't ever do it though because I don't weigh enough. Yesterday I had a bunch of blood drained for a blood test and I dind't get squat. So unfair.

Hmm, interesting promotion to get people to give blood. I'm not surprised that they're doing what they can to get people to contribute.. Although I think i'd probably want something other than a pint of a drink.. :p

I guess they don't need blood that badly. I can buy a pint of soda for $1. I've never liked the idea of my blood being in someone else's body anyway.
