Who invented homework? Could anyone tell me? I want to kick him! As most of you are, I am back in school and let me tell you that a couple of my courses are a real pain in the butt. My sociology class sucks. I cannot even like describe how much this class sucks. For starters my professor is a real jerk. He is requiring two textbooks and a workbook for this class and the worst part is like he is actually going to make us use the workbook and turn it in for part of our grade. We have two text books for this class, that’s right, TWO? He actually gives us reading assignments from both books due at the same time. It drives my crazy!

It might sound kind of stupid because like I dunno I kind of like going to school. I like being around people and having fun but the academic stuff sucks. For me it’s really fun to see all the new people on the first day of class. I get to pick out my new best friend I in the class. The person who I will sit with and ask for answers on a test. The same person I will check boys :D out or make fun of some nerdy kiss-up with. :p

High school was like the most amazing time of my life. College is just cool on it’s own. It’s hard to compare the two. I just think that homework in college is really uncalled for. It’s like busy work. You read something in a book and then you answer questions on a worksheet. Like hello! This is like my third year of college and I haven’t done this kind of busy work since high school so why, o-why, does this professor insist with ruining my college experience?

This class is required. It’s not something I am taking for fun. I am forced to take this class and it takes up a lot of my time and it is going to require a lot of hard work for me to pass and get a good grade. I just cannot pass this class because I must get a good grade or it’s going to reflect on my other grades and bring my GPA down which will like totally screw up my major. During my freshmen year I had some problems in unrelated classes (this same one actually, but I dropped it…) and I could have gotten myself into a lot of trouble. It’s just not fair. :(

What do you guys think about homework, busy work, and those required classes that haunt us all? :)

Go ahead and get whatever off your chest is bothering you about going back to school. :)

Well, I was almost dreading going back to school district's high school. My 8th grade year left some bad scratches and marks behind enough to make a lasting impression. The only thing that didn't want me to run away was the fact that there's a lot of anime fans there at the high school, I was going to try and be in chamber orchestra, be in National Honor Society, and be Valedictorian and kick everyone's butt.

My mom and dad transferred me to another school. I've been there, and it's really nice. Kinda big, but I don't mind. Not to mention that it's the biggest Catholic school in America, and is a highly competitive school and one of the most outstanding schools in America. But I was a late register, so there's a few kinks and stuff, like medical sheets. Man, those people at the Med. Office scare the hell outta me.

Well, at least now I'm having real friends. People I can really talk to, and there's a club I can totally go for (Filipino Club). I don't care if it can be really hard, that I have to be really careful (I have to cross at the light, since the school's near a busy street, because there have lots of accidents with the school's students and two died), that I have to carry a lot of books tommorow, I'm gonna have a fun time. And a uniform...better off than worrying what to wear tommorow.

Blackheart, life is hard. You just have to deal. Maybe it's not so hard.

Have a fun time at college!

"School sucks."
"I agree."
"And circle gets the square!":p

Anyway, I agree. School is evil. My complaints stem from my hard classes. AP Chemistry is just scary. We had summer homework, and the third chapter I totally did not understand (but we got an extension to finish it, thankfully). Also, we've switched around class and study hall (aka chem lab) so we're all confused about that, and we have naming quizzes and all this weird stuff. Ick. And College Prep Math (Precalc). Right now we're reviewing from Algebra II, but some of this stuff is so hard I just don't get it. Ick again. Then again, AP US History is my favorite class this year (another hard class). German IV isn't bad, and Academic Reading is fun. I have the highest vocab level of all the kids in my class (I guess reading a lot pays off:p). Humanities in kinda fun, just art appreciation, so that's sort of interesting. Math and Chem right now, ick.

But things are going to improve once everything really gets going and all. But then again, I'm having a fight with my dad over being able to drive and it's just not helping.

I have a great class that meets once a week (albeit for 4 hours) called Video Production. It basically gets you prepared for real world broadcasting with stuff like camera work, directing, behind the scenes work, and journalism. We're also learning how to construct effective ads (think lots of quick cuts) and how to use a camera to line up shots properly. It's really a lot of fun, and I'm glad I'm taking it.

I can't say the same for my other three classes, however- they're mostly filler/required stuff. Again.

Third year of college is starting up an what can I say? . . . Is it summer vacation yet? :(

I have never, ever been fond of school. I am not good at socializing and it's really showing in college. At least in high school I had people I could call friends. In college, man what's up with people? My professors say they notice it with most students at the school. It's a college in the middle of one of NYC's most biggest tourist trap. Evryone just comes in and out without even noticing the person next to them. The only people together you'll see is those that have been together since high school and stuff.

I have only started my online classes so far. First time I am doing so. I wanted to take more online but figured I need to be around people some time. I start regular classes tomorrow. I am a bit nervous. I promised myself to be more sociable. But then again that's what I always say.

I won't necessarily complain about my hw load, since I think I probably have one of the fewest for a college student, but I will complain a bit about my online CIS class. We have to do two 10 pg reasearch papers.. for an Introductory to Computers class.. It boggles the mind, I never had to do that even for English.. So that's going to be fun doing.

My other classes just involve reading the books, taking notes and filling out the guides and taking tests so i don't really have a problem with those.. Guess that's just how the cookie crumbles.

I totally understand what you are saying WingZombie. The friends we have in high school are truly unique. I love my college expierence but it's like I new my friends back then better because we grew up together for the most part.

Starting my second year of High School and man........there are no words to describe how I hate it. I've got Algebra One which is BAD but by itself wouldn't be that bad. But I don't even won't to get into biology. Honestly, I don't understand why I am required to learn it. What I am being taught is not going to affect my life, or my career aspirations one iota. I don't need to know that the changing of the sol and gel phases of the cytoplasmic matrix can result in organelle streaming. (That was an actual question on my last test)Sheesh. At least I'm homeschooled which I think makes things a little easier.

3rd year of High School for me. It can be a pain in the butt. But overall it's survivable.:)

Today was my first day of school (Junior Year of HS). God, it was so boring. Luckily, none of my teachers aren't going to hit me with work so soon, except for my Algebra II teacher. She came across as cocky, arrogant, rude, and an overall meanie. (That's the nicest thing I can call her, because my other choice of words for her can get me banned.) We are going to start work in that class tomorrow. Bummer. But I got Thursday and Friday off next week though!! All thanks to Rosh Hashanah! (sic)

College started back up again two weeks ago, though with the week-long hurricane-related vaction, I haven't quite gotten back into the swing of things. Feels kinda strange, but oh well. *Shrugs*

I swear that Math teachers have the worst attitude. I always have the feeling they are just like standing in front of me thinking they are better than me because they teach math.

Enjoy school while you're there, because when you're done you have to go out and get a job. And right now the job market sucks.
