If there are any runners here, your advice would be greatly appreciated. I've begun training to try out for a college cross country team next year. I ran cross country in high school so I'm not a complete noob, but I know it will take a lot more work this time around. My question: have any of you heard of ChiRunning, and if so, do you think it could help me in races this short? Dreyer is an ultramarathon runner and I can understand how this could come in handy for him, but I won't be logging more than probably 70-80 miles a week, and the races are only 10k. I have already used the techniques of ChiRunning to help with posture and mechanics, but can I get any more use out of it? Can I really be competitive in college xc without power running? Is it possible to run as fast as I need to without using my muscles? Also, I've been a power runner all my life, should I just stick to what I know? Thanks in advance.
