It's so nice to know that people in these boards are so nice and willing to help one another

Amen to that!

As a newbie, it is remarkable how polite everybody is and how respectful of each other's opinions you all are. Take it from me, it really makes a difference knowing I can put a posting on here and know I won't get mauled straight away. I used to be on an F1 Grand Prix discussion board, but I stopped going on it because the other members were intolerably opinionated, sexist, and derisive. Not at all like you guys.

In this day and age when there is so much "competition" to have the most posts or look the most important on a message board...it is just so nice to see someone who actually cares genuinely!

I'd imagine that our feathered fledgling here is a DOER in real life and that indicates to me that he will be a success and prosper...just good karma all around!

Simply click on your "profile" at the top of your post, then click on "edit profile." Scroll down until you see something like "change user text" and in the text box, enter whatever you want it to say under your name. Hope that helps.

Heh, i don't remember if i said that or not:) I don't think so, but, i could be wrong. But right now, i don't have an avatar because i can't find a good pick i like. Well, actually, i've found one, but when i click on it, it calls me a "stinkin' leecher." But, it's not my top priority to find an avatar. And if i can't find one, then my avatar is having no avatar:)

I'll try looking for that pic! It could be the error is that it's a BMP file, or it's too big (max. size is 75x75). It only accepts .gif's and .jpg's..

I'm willing to make an avatar for ANYBODY. It doesn't even have to be an avatar of any superhero character! (though, if it isn't, please point me to the picture if possible..but I'll still try and look first! :))

The only way I DON'T make avatars is:

1) They cannot contain any nudity

And thats it! lol.

Also, wildbats, I found your problem. You have to have 10 or more posts before you can set up your own avatar. you just need 4 more! :)

All righty. Here is all of the lowdown on what is needed from me..and all the requirements of the avatar crap.

RULES:

1) I will NOT make avatars that show nudity (I don't think the moderators would allow that anyway)
2) Nothing sexual can be happening in the pictures
3)Basically, nothing a PG movie wouldn't have in it (because these boards are PG..)

What I need:

1)Your Email (so I can email you the avatar, and if needed, directions on how to set it up)
2)What Character you want. And if it comes in more than one style (IE: Say you want a "Batman" avatar...I need to know if you want a old-style version bats, current comic style, TAS, TNBA, etc. etc.).

OTHER:
1) I may not to be able to find the picture you want. If you know of a place were I could find it, let me know! But, so far, I was only able to not find 2 avatars.
2) If you are not able to get your avatar set up for any reason, the other way to do so is: Give me the password to your account, and I upload it. Don't worry...I won't touch anything but your avatar upload. This is just to make sure you get the avatar of your dreams working! :)
3) I also just re-size pictures. I've done it before, and I'd be happy to do it for anybody who wants one re-done.

And guys, I found a way to make avatars ALOT clearer. So, if any of you guys/girls want your avatars to their clearest..tell me which ones I sent that you want re-done, and I'll send em' back, so they are at their clearest peak! Let me know, I really don't wanna be sending out crappy avatars! :)

And kylewayne..your current avatar..I re-did it for the heck of it..and it turned out great (it doesn't have those weird white lines along the sides of her anymore). The other ones I made for you before turned out OK too,but not nearly as good as your current one has. Let me know if you want it! :)

Well, first you gotta get a sized pic. That's what good 'ol Bird_Boy specializes in. Then after you have one, just go to the control panel. Next, click on edit options and scroll all the way down to change avatar. Then just load up the pic and hit submit changes. Very simple once you've done it:)

Not sure if you need to have ten posts or not. Ya might just get one more post in and then check. You might just have it sized wrong. I know i fiddled w/ it several times before i gave up and sent the pic to Bird_Boy. So i'd just make sure it's set to 75X75 pixels (or smaller) and try again. Good luck!

the requirement, I think, is 10 posts, 10 days being registered. Though, since freebooter got the avatar working (on my screen it works), and it says he registered in august, I don't think the date matters..just the # of posts. Anyway...just thought I'd let ya know.. :)

I know this is kind of off otpic, but since I've seen other people ask this question on this thread, I decided to ask it here. How do you change the "member" thing above your avatar? I've tried what optimal said way back at the beginning of this thread, but I can't find where it says "change user text". What am I doing wrong? Sorry for my lack of computer knowledge! :D

There's some stuff on www.clerksthecartoon.com, but aside from that, I've had no luck tracking anything down. I'm also not exactly sure how to capture and size the images right either. You can take a look if you want, but don't be too much in a hurry to do anything. Pack Rat's rockin the avatar spot quite nicely...

And for those curious, I've successfully sent out 127 avatars. That means, I've found, cropped, attached and sent 127 avatars out to different users of this board. Some I made alot for, others, I made just a few for...

and yeah....I have no life, which is why I counted them. But with school starting, your avatars will be later than usual...so bare with me.. :)

and I see TuffyCat got her personal user text set up..so everything is peachy keen.
