No I am not offering an insane trade of somesort, but merely a suggestion.
I went to bestbuy yesterday and while browsing through their anime section I came upon Twelve Kingdoms Vol.1 and 2 each costing 20 bucks each. Now I thought to myself "20 dollars holy crap I have 20 dollars and each is 125 minutes too, a bargain". So I bought both volumes knowing really nothing about the series and I am currently watching them, and the DVDs are not by ADV but are by Anime Works. Sofar I really think that this would fit with action VERY well, it is not mindscrew or cryptic but rather along the lines of Escaflowne-esque story and the story is quite solid and it's well paced and not as slow as some other shows, just minus the mecha and replace it with bad ass evil scary looking creatues that fight bloody war. Speaking of blood there is quite alot in it, and schoolgirls who partake in swordfights too.
Animation is very well done so it won't have the "dated" problem
