A pretty "meh" segment, but I did like the guys nose flipping when he was "defeated."
I liked the "Zelda" type efffects on his island. There is a such thing as too much of the mayor, he should not be in every episode. This was another meh episode. Also the ending should not be changed every segment, it takes away from the funnyness of changing it.

part 1:
now this is kinda disturbing... the sunburns of the ppg being their first real weakness and they move so slow..
that movement buttercup did when her skin rebelled against her.. and seeing them try dress? wow... the disturbing.
a bird in the face . wow..
is that the danger, two ordinary card sharks!?
wow.. this is wierd...disturbing.
they actually grew aloe vera not far from where i live.
i guess that's justice for those crooks??!
...errr?
part 2:
i've a feeling this is going to be a sad episode.
happiness carnival!?! yeah, i bet you COULD find happiness worth being a part of.
i guess the talking dog's still living with the kids.
wow.. the toiletnator has a brother in the ppg universe, it sounds like.. i did notice the va is the same . maybe lou gubrious SHOULD be a regular, even if the other villians forget his invite.
awww.. don't cry! you'll make me cry.
so he's hal larious huh!?! whoa.
how old is bubbles supposed to be now, anyway? she sure didnt' start off as a baby. i guess she's just about ready for her teenage years as a model
eventually one of those people are going to get thirsty.
whoa.. the giant baloon monster returned?? i havent' seen him in a while.
frownsville!?! you could call my hometown that , but change the f for a b. though it usually makes me cry sometimes with how stupid it gets ... to me..
he retired?!! shame . he could have a role.
only reason i'm giving this a 10 is to honor my dead a/c. pay your respects to my dead a/c and bow your head or it will be bowed for you.
change the channel,

wow...that was painfully stupid, painful because I've had sunburns that bad and yes, the aloe vera gel helps immensely, and stupid because...well that entire second segment, city of frownsville, Hal larious, Lou Gubrious? I don't know what's worse, the puns, the crying or the lame *"twin waterfalls shooting out of the eyes" bit they stole from anime and/or John K
An interesting pair of episodes..
The first one seemed very much, moral of the story, where sunscreen when exposed to large amount of sunlight.. The girls didn't listen to the professor, and ended up getting burned because of it.. Very predictable episode.. a tad slow for me.. "Sun Scream" gets a C+.
The second one was different, but then it wasn't exactly my type of episode either. Too much crying, I didnt' really like its animation, and it was the emphasis of the show, so obviously I wouldn't like it.. I didn't understand why Bubbles continued to cry, since it seemed she wasn't exactly affected by the miseray.. but I stopped questioning PPG a long time ago. "The City of Frownsville" gets a C.

Stole? It's called "all Korean animators animate crying in rivers like that."
I like how only John K can trademark animation things. I'd insert the roll eyes emoticon but I hate that thing and it should be destroyed.

What the hell was that? I don't think there's ever been a more pointless PPG segment than either of those.

maybe it was just one of those lesser thought out episodes they'd save for the end of a series's run they'd worked on for a while.. but kept from airing until the series was just about to end..
.... uh... oh.
what if it did end at 78, the series!?

Sun Screen - Kinda Pointless, don't ya think? What happened when Blossom tried to get of the bed was...distrubing....C-
The City of Frownsvile - Worst. Episode. Ever. Sadness? Happiness fair? Wha? D-

"Sun Scream" (D) - Yikes...that was more disturbing and gross than anything. Very mean-natured and mostly pointless. The only good thing about that one was the nerds being right in the end.
"The City of Frownsville" (D+) Ouch. A promising beginning leads into another mean-natured segment that was barely enjoyable. Only the use of the banana peel as a cliche and the name puns kept this one from being a complete failure.

It seems like the Powerpuff Girls resorted back to their boring and mundane plots. What the hell happened here?! Two weeks ago, they had a good episode, and now they are back to their C- quality.
A partial reason why I hate Chris Savino when he took full control of these programs.....
Chris and Genndy NEED to do an episode together again.
*sigh* but what are you going to do about it anyways...

Sun Scream- This episode was okay. It reminds me of the sunburns I get every time I go on vacation in Florida! One thing though, if the "emergency" was just a couple of con artists, shouldn't the cops have been able to handle that one? Townsville's got a really lazy police force! Poor girls have to do everything.
The City Of Frownsville- This one wasn't that good. They should have at least made Lou Gubrious do something funnier to get Townsville laughing, like a sequence of funny things (he walks into a rake, stumbles head first into a tree, and finally falls down a man hole) you know, something like that.:D

"Sun Scream" was one of those "show the girls with limited powers to make things funnier?" Couldn't Blossom have just FLOWN to the phone? Couldn't the girls just have blasted the swindlers? But no, that would have interrupted the lame "They got bad sunblock jokes! Everyone laugh at they're pain since we thnk that's funny since we don't know better" I think I only laughed when everyone called the Professor a nerd.
"City Of Frownsville" wasn't so much better either. Bubbles looked cute entering the contest, but that crying ray was beyond stupid. And so was the way Los Grubos (Hal Larious? Whatever, who cares?) was defeated beyond stupid? Ooh, a banana peel! Who didn't see that one coming a mile away? You know what would of been better? If Townsville's villians had come in and laughed at everyone's pain, and then everyone would stop crying and the town would be saved. PPG Villians > Banana Peel. Except for maybe Los Grubos.

Now that I'm not sleepy:
The deliberately hokey dialogue at the beginning of frownsville was funny, but then it never went back to normal.
What bothers me is that the premise is actually good...a constantly-sad scientist with a sadness ray is just the sort of thing you'de expect on the PPG, and would've been awesome if it had been written half as seriously (and yes I know what show I'm talking about here) as some other episodes.
And when you have a one-shot villain, aren't you supposed to still put at least a LITTLE more effort into their design than the random background townspeople?

Like most recent PPG eps, these were sub-par, but did have their moments.
I thought it was kinna a neat joke, that 'peels' played a role in defeating both episode's bad guys. And it was perversly amusing to see everyone spouting Anime-style waterfalls (though I was disappointed they didn't include shots of the Townsvillains doing so.)
But I did note one incongruous item: Lou Gubrious claimed Bubbles had defeated him in the Happiest Townsville Citizen contest "six years in a row." I thought she was only five.

to be honest, considering she was probably as aged as a 5-year old or so when she was created in the professor's experiment, she's probably 11 right now as this is about the 6th season. if the ppg age unlike so many cartoon characters right now.
in fact, this whole stunt with the clotheswear online teen ppgs's seem to be destined to sell.. .. if the clothes sell ...would they who are behind the ppg licensing, and to some extent, the show's direction, consider actually giving the older versions of the ppg (the more grown up ones) actual episodes with plots? but have them fight in various clothes, of course, that they're wearing at the time.
if she's 11 now, in 2 years she will be a teenager. maybe not as tall, but still. time changes everything.
