Another new episode of Aron City's hottest hunk, Johnny Bravo. The original creator, Van Partible, has been working on this third season too. Whoa mama, watch the hair!

"It's a Magical Life"
Johnny believes a magician has made him invisible.

"The Hunk at the End of This Cartoon"
Johnny fears the new hunk in town.

"It's A Magical Life" was an okay short. The magic act went on for way too long. I did like how Johnny walking around town thinking he was invisible was akin to him thinking he was frozen in time from the first season's "The Day The Earth Didn't Move Too Much". Not too good of an ending though. Kinda of like Season two to end with a woman having beat down on Johnny. Although thankfully, most other eps this season haven't ended like this.

"The Hunk At The End Of This Cartoon" was better, if only for the timer and the muffin man, and the random Carl appearences. A friend of mine suggested that the writers like putting Carl in there just to beat on him, which is kinda obvious. I'm with Johnny though: the Hunk ending up being cheese wasn't funny. The ending did kind of seem to stretch out, like one of those "we should of ended another minute sooner" type of endings.

don't worry too much about carl ... at least he's still getting work.

That what I notice too when I saw that episode. It was really similar.

Johnny walking around town thinking he was invisible was akin to him thinking he was frozen in time from the first season's "The Day The Earth Didn't Move Too Much".I thought the same thing as you and Bubblegum Girl. And to me it seemed like a re-hash of that episode, but less funny... The format of the gags was EXACTLY the same, with Johnny walking to different places and you see why the people are acting that way. Really too much of a rip-off of itself to be funny again.

I don't know what's with this season. Theoretically it's good that the series is going back to its original creator, but these episodes just seem really unfunny to me. If the show can only be funny out of its creator's hands, maybe it should just die.
I don't know what it is... Maybe it's that Johnny seems to be doing less girl-chasing and more random adventures, whereas the former is clearly the strength of the show. Maybe it's that these episodes seem somehow "over-directed," like they're trying to do too much with what seemed to work well as a simple but quick-witted show.

I still have to see the Hollywood special, though.

Two episodes of typical Johnny Bravo, mindless fun and entertainment.

I chuckled a couple of times as Johnny went through the episode believing he was invisible when just odd coincidences made it seem so. The realistic mirror collage, the ticket clerk tying his shoe, the food clerk sleeping with his eyes open, those market clerks bewildered by Johnny repeatedly causing the automatic doors to open and close and then the crowd of uninterested people that was art. And then Johnny realizing that being invisible he can't hit on the pretty ladies and tries to fix himself.. "It's a Magical Life" gets a B.
I enjoyed this one a bit more because of having Johnny and Suzy with just that text for some reason got me nostalgic for older cartoons. I liked Johnny's hunt to get rid of all the hunks, and the banter between he and Suzy. Doesn't hurt Suzy is my favorite character from Johnny Bravo. "The Hunk At The End of This Cartoon" gets a B+.
