I'm posting this because as of today I was banned from the Lovebugfans.com messageboard, the reason is completley a dumbass reason,I was banned for saying my thoughts, well heres what they said:"Bill, since you won't be back to answer this thread, it was nice knowing you, but you add absolutely nothing to this discussion group. We can count the number of positive posts you've made here on zero fingers."
"No hard feelings."

That's the internet for you. I learned along time ago to not sweat crap like this, so many of these punks come online and turn into Nazi's b/c it gives them a rush and makes them feel all good about themselves and God-like or some crap, b/c they have no form of authority or power in their real life, most times, or they're just a complete ass. That's why I'm thankful for places like TZ, sometimes I personally think the admins are a little too strict about some things, but at least they're fair and impartial about things and keep a nice, clean board. If that website actually means anything to you you could try getting in touch with the webmaster or somebody higher-up than this guy? I dont know much about it, I've never even heard of this place until now.

Pojo before they turned all...unorganized. So I guess that was for good reason. I moderate over at a Yu Yu Hakusho RPG so I don't see myself getting banned there. I pride myself on being able to hold in/ control all of the "unprofessional" things about me.

I'm only at two other boards usually. Jpopmusic and Asia'sFinest and I'm pretty welcome so no I have never been banned in another board.

I've got banned from the playstation.com message boards once. I was also warned once on Pojo's EZboard that I might get banned if I posted another useless reply. I just posted that I didn't see any new movies at the time and they warned me that I might get banned if I did something like that again. I just thought that that wasn't right and decided to stop going there. Pojo's used to be cool, but now they seem to be going down the crapper (No offense to those who still go to Pojo's). But luckily, I found this web site, which I'll be posting on from now on.

I'm proud to say that I was banned from the Infinium Labs message board.
I was banned from a forum, about 3-some years ago. Rightfully so, since I was 14 at the time and I was a real jerk. (Most of my friends then stood by me) Then again, it didn't help that the crazy admin and his equally crazy girlfriend were both a bunch of escapees from the Goth*Asylum...
I have contemplated going back, but I think the admin is still holding the incident against me... ahh well.

That sounds pretty stupid. You must have the right to say whatever you want. Your posts cannot be pointless to 'your gonna get banned' material.
I've never actually been banned. I go to another message board, the Harry Potter WB message board...no, actually, this is only the board I really go to.:D
My sister's actually got a warning for flaming on this board. The post she did didn't seem too flaming...except for she said idiot. And 2 people I know and supposed to be in an RPG with me got banned for RPGing in a non-RPG thread. And I guy I used to know and the Harry Potter message boards got banned 3 times for no reason. That's the Internet. It's full of smart and dumb people. Oh yeah, and crazy people who want to rape girls. The Internet is a forest. You gotta be careful and expect the unexpected.

I've never been banned. There was one board I used to post at before I came here, but it went into the crapper. Now I only post here and one other place. I'm boring enough to be ignored, but not jerky enough to warrant banning.

Hehe, thanks. Yeah, we are pretty strict, but I like to see that as a good sign. A board who has a strict policy has a strong mandate. Toon Zone is a community board and we encourage civility and "family" orientated discussions. One thing we try to be is impartial and treat everyone the same way and give everyone the same chance. Plus, the paperwork is a real pain - dealing with member problems is no fun as it requires a load of time to contact, write up, dupicate etc. :)
By the sounds of it, it is what makes this board different to what you describe Bill, although without seeing the thread it makes it hard to define how wronged they are.
Have they been in contact with your prior? I certainly think that's important. You can't ban someone you've not had to deal with before. They have to know they have done wrong and in what direction they are heading.
If that website actually means anything to you you could try getting in touch with the webmaster or somebody higher-up than this guy? I dont know much about it, I've never even heard of this place until now.Totally. They should have a route of appeal procedure in which you can approach the boss for a second decision.

Heh, here's one person's rebuttal (http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&selm=ge%25Ec.86923%24Ax1.1040840%40news20.bellglobal.com&rnum=7) concerning this issue: :D
What I enjoy about r.a.a.m. versus most anime web boards...
1) No "Ghods" in "Mods" clothing. I don't force anyone to read what I
write - why should someone decide whose stuff should appear or not?
2) Fewer jerks - they seem to enjoy sucking up to "Ghod-Mods" in private
boards. (See above)
3) Variety in topics. I can post reviews of obscure (or not so obscure)
anime. Other people can talk about anime on American TV. Others can kibitz.
Others can obsess. It makes for an eclectic read.
4) Knowledgeable participants - even the most cranky of readers can usually
tell a questioner "where to go" or "what to do" to get an answer. (Hmmm, did
I phrase that quite right? <g>)

I was banned from the Mac Emuscene forums, but later that day I was un-banned. From what I gather, it was a server error or mod/admin mistake or something, because I did nothing to warrant a ban.
So I guess I've never been banned from any forums.
Nope. Never been. Hopefully never will.
Never been banned.. then again, I don't go to many forums.. and those that I do go to, I don't post as much, as often or for as long as I have here at Toon Zone. This is definitely my favorite message board place.

I haven't been banned, but I know a couple of people who have been banned from these very boards (don't know why, no warning). One of them posts on Videohelp.com:sweat:
I tend not to be a post-nut, so I guess even if I was troublesome, there wouldn't be enough evidence against me :p Plus, I'm pretty mellow anyow.
i always try to be a good little girl because even though it's the internet, i still want people to see that i am filled with God's love and holy spirit.

If I me so bold as to say this...we all like geeky content. This is a given. Along with geeks however, you have "nerds". Nerds are snivveling little, anti-social, whiners, who are generally agressive towards the rest of the world for no reason. They spend time picking fights on the internet and brooding on their blogs. You were probably just under the administration of such a nerd. People should have well rounded lives.

The TV Without Pity Forums...............
For some reason they assumed I was some TV station employee doing what one member called "cheap research" and I was banned before the "warning level" (for promoting weblog in my signature) even reached the level of being banned. Nowadays I visit their forums very little (mostly the Game Show board). Besides, most and hopefully not all members have a negative attitude toward programs on the Set.

Only once... I was banned from TVTome for trolling the Kim Possible boards... Now, before the moderators here start considering using their nice, soothing, "Ban"button, let me try to explain: At the time, TVTome seemed to suffer from an inordinate lack of Moderation. Anyway, at the Totally Spies! board, we had a troll that was infamous for posting "Fake Seasons" (Cameo appearences from Cartoon Cartoon characters, and suggesting that the main characters weren't actually friends, but lovers were the least of it... ), all the time swearing it was official information, but they would get critical information wrong (Marathon's Web Address, for starters...)
So finally, in pent-up frustration at being unable to permanently rid ourselves of this particular troll, I finally decided to troll the KP board of TVTome in retaliation (This was during the height of my KP hatred) Needless to say, I'm no longer a member of TVTome... :o But again, it was mostly manifested from a perceived lack of control on the Administration's part. Now, while I might not agree with certain moderators' style of moderating here, I'd rather have a little too much control than none at all... ;)

Heh. Lucky for me, I have not ONCE been banned from any of the vast collection of boards I've joined up with. Thankfully...in my earlier years on the Internet, I was UNBEARABLE. It was just embarrassing. Glad I cleaned up my act eventually...
*sigh* All this message board speak brings me back to the days of another now-dead message board in which myself and a few others once wasted away countless hours of our precious time, improv-ing fanfiction and ranting on about NOTHING. Eddy, YOU know what I'm talkin' about...

I was banned from DeviantArt for a few days. Which is odd, seeing as there was absolutely NO reason for me to be banned. I even pleaded with the folks here at TZ trying to enlist someone to help me find a way to contact the mods at DeviantArt. Alas, my pleas fell upon deaf ears *poke*
Anyways, the mods there must have straightened it out because I was unbanned a few days later.

If it was inexplicable or embarassing and I was there, then I will remember it.
I was banned from a MSN group (CNOC) because I posted fanart with a URL to my website on the bottom of the picture. They considered it spam and told me that they're not going to ban me this time but when I checked back it said "You do not have permission to view this group". I think that's considered a ban.
I guess any site that is that strict isn't even worth my time, I'm not going to beg to get back in either.

In truth, you're really assuming quite a bit. But more importantly, you're failing to take into account that the boards you visit aren't yours, they're owned & run by folks who have their own standards and desires for what they wish to have happen within them. You post there, you play by their rules. That's life.
I'm proud to say that I was banned from the Infinium Labs message board.LOL!!! You sir, are my hero. Phantom this, baybee!! ;)
You must have the right to say whatever you want.Again, no, not really. You have the right to say whatever you want in your home and in certain environments. But if you walked into a neighbors house and just started swearing and insulting the family, they'd justifiably kick you right out. (I'm not saying this is what Bill did, as indeed, we have only a limited account of what transpired.)
The same with online communities. Just 'cause you found a place where you want to be heard, doesn't give you the right to say whatever you wish. One has to abide by the rules of their host.
As lostrune suggested, for those wishing for an online unmoderated discussion, I'd go with usenet/newsgroups. They're pretty much a free-for-all climate.

Well, this is pretty much the only place I post anything, so I've never been banned, thankfully. However, I admit when I first came here I did get a little too "out-of-hand" when I started going against anime of today, mainly Pokemon. Today, I've been checking out some animes and if I don't like what I see, I just change the channel. Mainly, I enjoy watching Yu-gi-oh although I also found Duel, Tenchi, Inuyasha/Kagome, & Cowboy Bebop pretty enjoyable. I just don't like animes where the female characters are temperamental & hot-headed such as Dirty Pair, Samurai Pizza Cats, Ultimate Muscle, Mon Colle Knights and Pokemon's Misty. I like Yu-gi-oh's Tea, Serenity, Ishizu, and, of course, Mai Valentine a lot better. I think they're all very sweet.:D
Unfortunately, I just lost a game show forum that I was a member of for almost a year. When I tried to get into the site, I got a message saying it no longer existed. What a shame, met some interesting people too.:(
Well, that's about it. I thankfully have never been banned. I only hope I never do. This is too great a place to leave.:)
I was banned from TV Tome once. Someone insulted me, and I think I used the word "ass" when I repsonded to her. They never told me why I was banned, but that was the only inappropriate post I ever made. I don't know what else it could have been. That was in the "Kim Possible" TV Tome forum back during the flame war....long story. I'd like to think that in general I'm pretty civil on message boards, but some things those people said hit a nerve with me.
I don't think I should have been banned for that, but I don't really care anymore because that place is a mess anyway. It isn't moderated well, and their reasoning for banning people is so inconsistent. One person can cuss like a drunken sailor in one thread, and another can make an off topic thread, and the latter will be the one that gets banned.
Oh well, this place will always be the best. (Even if I don't come here as often as I used to.)

This "flame war" of which you speak... It wouldn't happen to be the TS vs. KP one that I started, now would it (I mentioned it here (http://forums.toonzone.net/showpost.php?p=1350386&postcount=44))? From the number of forums that I've joined.

 How about I asked him to let me back in when I first got banned.
This "flame war" of which you speak... It wouldn't happen to be the TS vs. KP one that I started, now would it (I mentioned it here (http://forums.toonzone.net/showpost.php?p=1350386&postcount=44))? If it's true, it's nice to know that I'm a legend in my own time (At least, in some places...) Actually, my little brother started it, and it had nothing to do with Totally Spies. The KP forum used to be full of Shego obsessed Drakken haters, but most of them left after my brother started flaming them. I usually don't approve of flaming, but they really deserved it. The war I'm talking about started around the beginning of this year. It's interesting to learn that apparently there have been more than one. I guess it just shows how poorly moderated those TV Tome forums are.

I've never been banned from boards. The first boards I ever went to was Powerpuff.com... boy, was that a bucket of uselessness. Then, Disneysites. I'm still a moderator there... I don't moderate any more, or post any more really, but I do lurk sometimes. Not a bad place, until it was overrun by mindless RPGs and other stupidity.

I've been banned from IGN Boards a few times.
....Don't kknow why I'm banned and those who talk about sexual stuff on a "Rated E" game board don't get banned...

Speaking of which, I almost got banned during the 'Reggie Riot' that occurred in the Gamecube General Board (which soon spilled into the Vestibule and PS2 General Board) during E3.
Oh man, good times, good times. :D
Plus it made me glad to be an Insider.
Tho's I'd rather not get banned there, as I spent $25 on a year-long membership... ^^;

I'm not an Insider. So I got nothing to lose really.

I've never been banned from a board before, or even close to being banned. The first board I went to was ToriyamaWorld, I think. Man, when I went here I was shocked at how fast people respond:D!! Right now this is the only board I post on. I post sometimes on ToriyamaWorld (like once in 3 months!!:D). But that place is REALLY boring now.

Only once... I was banned from TVTome for trolling the Kim Possible boards... Now, before the moderators here start considering using their nice, soothing, "Ban"button, let me try to explain: At the time, TVTome seemed to suffer from an inordinate lack of Moderation. Yeah I know, I co-edit the Inuyasha guide there. And we editors have no control over those boards what so ever. If anything goes wrong we have send an e-mail over to the webmaster and wait for him to do something.

I went to a particular forum, with a name that will not be specified here, in 2001, and unintentionally bothered everyone. I got a warning in the middle of my stay there. I voluntarily left in December of the specified year. Of the three other boards I have been to, that was the closest.

Although I'm not an animal rights person by any means, I sometimes frequent message boards for animal rights/animal welfare debating. I went to the peta2 boards to see if I could get some answers about various issues and was banned from there- twice. First time was for defending the Iditarod, the second because I critisized another member who made an ignorant post about horse care that any experienced horse person would be up in arms over. It's a shame- I know those kids have good intentions, but most of them are kinda clueless on animal care and behavior, and the admin bans anyone who dissents in any way.
