I can't recall if it was yesterday or saturday's Atlanta Journal(atlanta newspaper) I read this in, but they had an article about 4kids bringing new cartoons over from Japan and how kids ratings are booming on saturdays because of this. And then it talked about how 4kids is also spreading its "kids properties" to other channels like CN and mentioned shows like JCA and PKMN and Yugioh and then it mentioned that Shaman King would be showing up on CN in the Fall.

I don't know how reliable this source is, but just thought i'd mention it since it is a newspaper and usually those things either dont lie or lie on accident. So take this for what you will, just thought i'd let everyone know.

Replacement for Duel Masters on Toonami? Could be...

If Shaman King is actually coming then I have NO doubt that Sonic X will be as well.

Sonic X is Miguzi for sure but Shaman King could be Miguzi, prime time, or Toonami.

Interesting development at least. Thanks for the heads up.

I doubt it, Toonami is generally premieres. Sure, JCA is on there, but that is leaving soon. Shaman King already did the once a week premiere thing, I think weekdays would be much more likely.

Edit: I'd say the Atlanta Journal-Constitution is probably a pretty reliable source.

Well adding both Shaman King and Sonic X to Miguzi would be good.

05:00 - Totally Spies
05:30 - SD Gundam
06:00 - Shaman King
06:30 - Sonic X

If they throw Duel Masters in prime time, that should make for a wonderful afternoon evening block with a little comedy thrown in as well.

Why would Jackie Chan Adventures be mentioned in that article? It's not a 4kids property... Did they name off other non-4kids shows?

I still think they might not put Shaman King on prime time or Miguzi because it's clearly anime and not quite the ratings grabber that Pokemon, YGO, and even Sonic X is. Especially since Rave Master is sticking around. It'd still be CN premieres so it'd still be premieres and there's only 25 (not 26, but 1 episode doesn't matter much) available at the moment and CN probably wouldn't get more than that unless they only got a little bit more (which would have already aired on the Fox Box no doubt).

But we'll just have to wait and see.

I want to read the Journal-Constitution so badly! I haven't seen one since I moved from Georgia!

Anyway, I don't think it'd be a good move to bring every 4Kids show to Cartoon Network. Two is already enough. We don't need a whole network infested with the stuff.

Toonmaster's got a point. And not just from 4Kids, either. It wouldn't be that great to bring every show from every other kids block here, either.

I agree but I think that 4kids shows (especially their girls shows for this year) will be must haves to keep Miguzi girl safe. Kodocha could pay the bills but Totally Spies wont last CN forever and Tokyo Mew Mew and Winx Club look like they'll be big successes where 4kids wants them to be.

Sonic X and Shaman King need a home for weekdays... and of course on CN they are always in better company.

There's something about 4kids shows that works for CN... and better than any non-Warner Animation KWB show (including Pokemon and YGO which are 4kids shows but KWB 4kids shows are a slightly different bread than Fox Box 4kids shows).

One Piece will be on CN if it succeeds on the Fox Box. That's like the law or something.

CN's original programing is what fuels the network but aquisitions keep things interesting.

I still won't forgive them for dubbing such a great Anime in english...... "Mortimer"?? *shudders* (sorry if this offends anyone; Only my opinion)

Dubbing it isn't the crime it's westernizing it.

But I can tell you why Manta was changed to Morty... for the jokes.

Dubbing ain't exactly all that great either. I've only seen about half the dub episodes, but I have yet to hear a voice I actually like on the show.

Of all the shows, why are you singling out Duel Masters?

Because it will be done in September, duh.

If DM was still premiering then I'd have it replace Rave Master.

CartoonNetwork has the most shows and is vey popular because of Toonami..

Kids W.B. is surviving because they have the new episodes of Yu-gi-oh! and for some reason constant repeats of Pokemon Master Quest

Fox Box is hanging by a thread with Shaman king and Possibly Ultimate Muscle and Kirby..

Why not Shaman King on C.N. seeing the begining is fine with me..

Toonami is not the highlight of CN these days. It hasn't gotten press in months.

Miguzi is the head action block now followed by Adult Swim.

KWB is the king of Saturday mornings. Don't ever think otherwise.

The Fox Box has some break out hits like Sonic X and TMNT but they are still building. This season should be very interesting... with Tokyo Mew Mew and one Piece thrown in.

IMO most of 4kids dubs are worthy of reruns on CN and some even on Toonami (until they start focusing less on 6-11 anyway).

Ultimate Muscle is gone from the Fox Box. Sonic X is their #1 rated show followed by Ninja Turtles. Shaman King is actually #4 behind Kirby as well.

Kids WB is surviving thanks to their final hour of new episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh! Enter the Shadow realm and Megaman: NT Warrior. Xialoin Showdown was actually 3rd this last week for that network, ahead of Poke'mon, so it's not due to those 2 alone that they are getting the ratings.

The Poke'Mon Advanced reruns are occuring because they've shown 52 episodes this year. Expect new episodes to begin in August since they actually have 4 left from this last season. They will begin airing those ones in August leading straight into the next season beginning September 11th. The main reason Yu-Gi-Oh! is new episodes is because they have their movie which takes place after the Battle City Finals coming out next month, so they'd like to get through that storyline. Expect repeats to begin when that saga gets done though.

Back to the topic. I'll love seing Shaman King come to CN, but I'm thinking it'll be more likely in late October before CN begins airing it. If they've truly picked up Shaman king, then you can count on them having season 1 of Sonic X and the remaining season 2 Ninja Turtles episodes as well. Perhaps CN should just create a primetime 4Kids block and move Ninja Turtles from Miguzi over to it to air Monday thru Thursday.

Prime time 4kids block? No that wont do. The only block that deserves prime time is Toonami and that would only be an hour or 2 at most.

Miguzi fits 4kids shows quite well.

TMNT works there well (but I'd rather have it in prime time so I could actually manage to watch it live) and Shaman King and Sonic X would also do fine.

I don't think they have the rest to TMNT season 2 just yet... but if they do they wont air it on Miguzi. They'd probably put it at the top Toonami or premierie them on Sunday mornings since that's only 12 episodes. I expect TMNT will be bought in chunks that are part of two seasons and cut off mid season... but it's hard to tell how CN does things with acquisitions these days. They seem to like to stretch things as much as possible before going into reruns (hence most acquisitions that have premieres are premiereing once a week like the CN originals which do the same).

2004 is a different beast than 2005 though. We aren't sure what CN will be like by then. Maybe One Piece would be better off in prime time. It's in prime time in Japan afterall.

Shaman King on CN, it may premiere on Miguzi or along JCA or Pokemon and Yu-gi-oh, still good to hear since it's an okay show in 4kids version.

Well, in my opinion, the only good dub 4Kids made was the early episodes of Pokemon and SOME of the movies. The One Piece dub sounds like it might be good, but we'll have to wait and see. By the way, I consider any dub that doesn't use any of the original music not worth watching.

Especially with Toonami just once a week, and for a few hours, I just don't see anytime soon that it would air shows that are just CN premieres. Unless they happen to run low on new episodes of shows, and don't care to show complete reruns then I guess it could happen..

I think Shaman King on primetime would be good. It's a great series, and the dub is decent, although I'm wondering how they're gonna handle a certain character that comes later in the series..

Well Shaman King coming to CN thats good.

Lets look at the situation

Fox Box I would not count out because One Piece will probably land there

Kids WB has Yugioh which I enjoy. Which basically it

CN kicks both of their butts up and down the court

Which movies? I thought all the movies after MSB were pretty decently dubbed.

So were Pokémon and Detective Conan.

And that's why Pokemon is on at 8PM right now and we all know why Conan isn't in prime time. But for that matter so was Inuyasha, Dragonball Z, and most shonens. I'm just saying that it's fitting for Shaman King to be in prime time... I suppose despite its editing.
