Your Week of Episodes!

Monday, 7/12/04
Flower Power

Ash and company continue their quest to Violet City and run into a city where people are gathering for a unique festival, where Pokémon perform various acts like they were Seals (or Seels) or something. One such trainer is trying to raise a pair of Bellossom to be the greatest dancers in the world, but they're having problems. Can the Bellossom perfect their routine while staving off Team Rocket?
Comments: A decent episode that 4Kids got a lot of use out of during the promos, Karokémon, and the horrible, horrible PokéRAP G/S.

Spinarak Attack

A rash of burglaries is sweeping a small town that seem remarkably similar to a burglar from way back when. Apparently, the burglars, who are obviously Team Rocket, have seen Spider-Man way too many times. It's up to Ash and the gang to stop Team Rocket before they make off with all the valuables in the city!
Comments: A decent episode, and a break from the norm for Team Rocket. Unfortunately, Spinarak just isn't that interesting a Pokémon...

Snubbull Snobbery

A rich woman is pampering her Snubbull when Ash and company come into town, with Team Rocket close behind. Snubbull, looking for more excitement and to get out of the house for a while, develops an "attachment" to Meowth's tail, much to the cat's frustration.
Comments: Meh, a decent set-up episode to a subplot that never really goes anywhere. Snubbull is basically Johto's Jigglypuff, except that Jigglypuff is much cooler.

Thursday, 7/15/04
The Little Big Horn

As the gang heads into a new town, Brock spies an injured baby Stantler, and tries to nurse the fawn back to health. Meanwhile, Team Rocket is out to capture a herd of Stantler for the boss, which leads them right to Ash and the gang...
Comments: Brock gets his first spotlight episode in what seems like forever, and is basically made so that Brock fans will like him even more. An enjoyable filler episode.

NOTES

This season is the 4th American season and covers the end of the Orange Islands and the first 1/3 of Johto.
Except for the Snubbull episode, all this week is filler. But the second half is pretty good.
This is not Snubbull's first animated appearence, as it also appeared in Pikachu's Vacation, the mini-movie to Mewtwo Strikes Back.
Right now Ash's team is: Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charizard, Squirtle, and Heracross.

I liked Flower Power since it has Bellossom and maybe some connections to Advanced? the title is sort of used again as Now Thats Flower Power and the Pokemon street exhibition could have been a setup for the Pokemon contests we have now :)

I think my favorite part of the episode was Pikachu dancing around Team Rocket's attacks. Otherwise, very "meh".

Whoa. Where is everybody? This is getting as much replies as the July Reruns thread over at the Anime Forum.

I like that Stantler episode, it gives Brock some good development, which is sorely needed after his OL disappearence.

Also, has anyone else noticed that CN has been cutting out the "Who's That Pokémon?" lately? And that the "Kareokémon" doesn't have the lyrics? Any reason why on either?

"Spinirak Attack"- I actually kind of liked this episode. Was pretty cool seeing Team Rocket as regular catburglars. Favorite part: Where they said they would strike at 12 Midnight, but ended up oversleeping and keeping the gang waiting.

"Snubull Snobbery"- I think this was a pretty bad episode. I like Snubull's other main appereances a lot more (espically the ep where he gets in a fight with Jigglypuff).

"Little Big Horn"- One of the few Brock based episodes of Johto. I agree with Duke on how it gives Brock a lot of good development. Sadly, I can't remember much else about this ep.
