Anyway, a pretty good ep. Yugi easily pwned that Rare Hunter once he learned his stragey. And Yugi finally learns of Marik, and evil he'll have to deal with for over 80 more episodes.

BIGGEST DUB EDIT: In the original, Joey wants Yugi to keep his Red Eyes Black Dragon since he wants to win it off him fair and sqaure. They changed it so Joey's just giving to him to help Yugi out, which is completing ignoring a subplot throughout the entire Battle City arc.

I can understand some of the plot changes but that one always confuses me, why did they edit that out. It was quite a important part of the plot, not as much right now but in a few weeks it will be.

Is it me or is Esper Roba's English VA also Yoh Asakura in Shaman King? The voice sounds familiar

This is one of my favorite battles in the Battle City Storyline. And it have the debut of one of my favorite card of the Yugioh card game, Jinzo.

Yesterday's was an okay episode. The weird thing about the Espa Ropa/Joey duel is it's the first Battle City Duel that isn't all won in one turn. Think about it:

Kailba vrs Computer: Obelsiek used it's special attack to complete devestate the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon and it's lifepoints.

Joey Vrs Rare Hunter: Exodia was played, which equals instant win.

Yugi Vrs Rare Hunter: Yugi directly attacked with powered a 4100 Powered Magnet Warrior.

I kind of thought it was stupid for Joey not to know the rules of sacrification if he knew them in his duel with the Rare Hunter. What's up with that? Stupid writers, always trying to make Joey look worse then the other top duelists for comedic purposes.

Am I the only one that was disappointed that Yugi didn't actually find a way to beat Exodia (just prevented the guy from summoning it)?

There is no way to beat Exodia, when you get all five pieces in your hand you instantly win.

That would have ended the duel if Exodia had been brought out.

Wendesday's Ep: Eh, not really that great. I'm not a fan of "Joey getting his butt kicked until he pulls a lucky move at the end" ways of winning duels. I prefer him to put up more of a fight, which is why I liked the first half more.

Thursday's episode was also fairly decent. The Marik and Kailba scenes were important but... Yu-Gi-Oh is not good at making most important scenes really that interesting. Not to mention this episode featured a horribly bad dub add in: The regular saws became Shadow Discs that will 'Send your mind to the shadow realm" if you touch them. Total BS, as in the original it would just cut you're legs off, but I guess they couldn't pass that on American Saturday morning TV, and didn't want to spend so much time editting the 3 Episodes to try and remove that plot point entirley.

So there's no way to decrease it's stats and/or increase the stats of your Duel Monsters in order to beat it?

Nope. The individual pieces of Exodia are monsters and have atk/def points but they're very low. The main strategy with Exodia is to get all five pieces in your hand and instantly win. The assembled Exodia is more of an effect than an actual monster.
