Why 'Aqua-Teen'?

Why is Aqua Teen Hunger Force' called what it is? As far as I know it has no reference to water (aqua) and they dont look like teens because they have there own house and everything.

Anyone know why its called Aqua-Teen Hunger Force? Stupid question...I know.:sad:

I'm not sure exactly. The fact that they were the ATHF only came up in "Baffler Meal".

I always got the idea that it would have been the sort of stupid title that Master Shake would have come up for the group. Probably while lounging in Carl's pool, hence the "aqua." I'm not sure why "teen" though, just that it was probably Shake's idea and the other two didn't feel like fighting him on it.

First of all, they're not teens. Secondly, there's no water invovled. The whole Hunger Force thing? That's probably misleading, too.
It's one of the great mysteries of the universe.

Because the series is a parody of the "crime fighting animorph" genre, which often has long convoluted adjective-filled titles which reference the age of the protagonists. (See also: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.)

The Aqua is likely from Shake's love of water (he swims when it's freakin' Christmas time!) The Teen would probably be related to the marketing strategy that the whole bunch was originally conceived under (you know in that Space Ghost ep, where Ignignot had posessed Shake.) And the Hunger Force is "proactive" which is one of those buzz words that stupid people say to sound smart . . . so also a marketing gimmic. There name is a Lie a terrible lie to get children to pony up to the fast food industry. I'm hungry I'm gonna go get a taco.

Teen Force was the name of one of the numerous Hanna-Barbera shows to come out the 1980s, IIRC. They likely just took the name of that and added something to make it distinct or memorable since every other WS show for Adult Swim has used previous H-B characters.

but seriously I think the 'Teen' is because they're really spoofing off the idea of "The Mod Squad" (A group of 3 hip hippie crimefighting teenagers/young adults) back in the 1970's.. and the Aqua? Well I like the theory ToliverChap, put out.. Shake's Love of taking a swim in Carl's pool...

save for aqua teen hunger force.. not ONE of those characters have been seen, as far as i know, in ANY h-b production other than the space ghost 'baffler meal' episode ... before the years of williams street's existance.

Well I know for sure why they are Teen, because they look like it and almost sound that they are just Teenagers trying to save the day and stuff, although that may not make much sense there, it is just thought of some sort.

Yet how come people can figure that out so easily when they think of ATHF? That's my whole point from the previous post.
