I was looking at some news here @ TZ and read all about Family Guy, loved it been watching it a lot :D ... but do we really have to wait till mid 2005 for Fox to air it? Does Cartoon Network have the rights to claim them as new episodes?

First of all, the animation is still being made. It takes months to finish a batch.
Second, people remember, Fox owns Family Guy lock, stock, and barrel. They're still the ones funding the $1+ million per ep cost, with CN only paying the license fee. CN can't do crap with FG; Fox will make sure they are the first to recoup their considerable investment.

The new eps will be seen on Cartoon Network. Fox has said that they may show a few of them, but otherwise, it will be CN-only.

Fox is going to run season 4 in summer 2005. Knowing Fox, CN will probably get the 2nd run.
