I liked the bad guy, and I don't like many Inuyasha rogues. He was disturbing and sort of original. But then again I never liked Just-for-Men-Inuyasha, I mean his initial episode was okay and was interesting. Screw it, I actually loved that episode. But now it just seems like a way to make some danger, and distracts from the more interesting main plot. But it was still a pretty cool episode.

B+

And one thing about JFM-Inuyasha, couldn't one of the many who want to kill Inuyasha just follow him around for a while and wait for him to turn into a human and then shoot him with an arrow?

I loved it. I loved it. I loved it.;) ;) ;) This season of Inuyasha has been fun to watch and to enjoy.:) I mean couldn't get any better. The whole entire episode kept me suspense. Inuyasha getting stuck in the jar and the sthealth(hope that's spelled right), Kagome,Shippo and Miroku getting struck and tooking to a strange world where there was no way out, Sango going off without knowing that the gang was about to be in deep trouble, and Inuyasha losing his powers because of the new moon. I tell you that was great. The action kept me on my toes and wondering from one problem to another about how Inuyasha and others are going to escape there problems. Poor Kagome. I wish it was a dream for you.:( Anyway, to put it all to rest, this episode is worth watching over and over! I give this episode a big 5.:) ;) :D :p

Stalking people gets boring. Trust me.

Anywho, a good ep tonight. The villain was rather freaky (fat guys with shark teeth scare me). The mini-world looks interesting and there was another nice surreal moment involving Kagome and school.

This was a good episode, it is also nice to know that those shards can enpower human with power (and not just maintain a human's life).

One other thing; that rock-solid body-slam had to hurt... OUCH!!!!

Interesting episode.

It's good to see that Inuyasha still has superhuman powers since he lived through that stone-body-slam even though he's human right now.

And I say that this episode was quite good, and well to make a point here, I know by the second episode, there is a possablity that Naraku may appear to steal the jewel shards, it is likly to happen, and well I just hope Inu Yasha will survive and stuff, and tonights episode is worth an A-.

"Fateful Night in Togenkyo Part 1" was a good episode. Kagome and her dream about a perfect score on her math test was great. Surprising to see that a jewel shard could deflect the Tetsusaiga like that. I was hoping to see the sheath stab that Sage in the back while going to the Tetsusagia, but at least Inuyasha ended up getting out. Kagome, Miroku, and Shippo get shruken and captured in a miniature village. They could just climb out since there's a mountain that goes to the top of the thing, but I doubt they'll get out that way. Amazing to see that the jewel shards could give the sage a stone body, but they are magic I guess.

This episode was better than I thought. Inuyasha's smarter than the average dog when he figured out how to get out of the bottle. That little world that Kegome, Miroku, and Shippou got sucked into looked pretty cool. Also, when they were going up the mountain by Shippou and Shippou was getting tired and gave up and everyone Kegome and Miroku started falling and Miroku caught Kegome, I was sure that Miroku was going to touch Kegome's butt or something. Wow what a sentence. Anyway awesome episode. I can't wait for next week's.

1. Heh, Miroku was so relieved to get rid of the ball&chain, so he's free to womanize again.

2. Miroku (for the 2nd time): "Demon Tree that eats humans to bear fruits with human faces [blah blah blah]...."
Obviously, there's a Japanese proper term in the original there that the ADR dubbers chose to translate the whole thing because why would Miroku bother to say the whole freak'n long phrase again for the 2nd time when everybody knows already.
[Now how's that for a freak'n long sentence. :D ]

3. Y'know, why can't Miroku just suck a whole thru that cardboard enclosure?

[Now how's that for a freak'n long sentence. :D ]Actually, sort of like "Bakuryuuha", they DID say the actual name of the tree once: Ninmenka. Then they just reverted to the translated name for some reason.

3. Y'know, why can't Miroku just suck a whole thru that cardboard enclosure? :shrug:Shhhh!

Anyway, to me, this episode had spots of animation that were significantly better than the rest of the series. The part with the guy running from Toukajin (not to be confused with Toukijin :P) at the beginning, the part where Toukajin discards Tetsusaiga and finds the jewel shards, and the part where Inu summons Tetsusaiga with the sheath were all very well-done.

This episode deviates from the manga version significantly, though. Of course, the most glaring change is that this story arc originally took place before Sango showed up, which is why there was the excuse for her to leave. Also, the original had no "gourd of doom"... Toukajin actually ATE Inuyasha. And when Inuyasha summoned Tetsusaiga, it didn't pierce him, but rather the impact made him throw Inuyasha up. XD

This was almost the same as the manga version of it except for the beginning and the perfect test dream...

But the VA for The Peach Man seemed a bit ill-fitting...

It's been said already, but I'll say it again. This was a good episode of Inuyaha. The sage dude made me sick at first, but he looks normal now. Normal, as far as a giant fat sage rock demon can look. One question, whare is Sesshomaru? I was hoping he would make an apearence. (Even though I knew he wouldn't.) Anyway, I have a feeling the samori's usefulness is not over yet, even though it probably is. It was good to see that Inuyasha could hurt the sage in his human form by punching him. ...and it was incredably stupid for him to try to hit him when he was about to squash him.
A+

Nifty episode - I liked this section in the manga, and I'm liking it now. :>

There were a couple of key differences (so far) between the anime and manga, though - the whole 'eating Inuyasha' thing (I actually kinda prefer the use of the gourd - makes for a less... messy story ;)), and the issue with the 'sages in training' in the mini-village. In the manga, the village is filled with guys sort of mindlessly wandering around, not training to become sages but actually enchanted from eating the village's food. Needless to say, that samurai guy isn't in the manga either, but it was an interesting change - not really good or bad.

Anyway, I liked this episode - can't wait for next week. :)

I can see why poor Inu used to just hide out when he lost his powers. Talk about bad luck, huh?

And what was he thinking trying to punch Toukajin while he was delivering that splendid flying body press? At least he has strong bones in his human form. (Apparently)

I don't often say "Ow!" out loud when I see someone get hurt on TV, but I did when Inu-Yasha was body slammed in this episode. Ow!

Pretty good ep, though since I already read the manga, I pretty much knew what to expect. I loved Kagome's dream in the beginning and Shippo turning into a...uh...what is it? A giant weird pink face?

Toukajin and his demon tree...

Dang, nice eery episode. When I first saw that guy I was freaked out by his shark like teeth and his eyes. Also those peaches. Geez.

Highlight for this episode for me: Toukajin turning his body to stone and giving human Inu Yasha a huge bellyflop. Uh, I also agree that was plain dumb of dog boy trying to stop him with his fist.

Screen caps from this episode. (http://home.hawaii.rr.com/wizardgrey/Inu%20Yasha.htm) Also there are two pans. One of them is Kagome's classmates cheering for her. The other one, Inu Yasha crushed into the floor after Toukajin's attack.

Nice episode, although I don't understand Sango's reasoning of going back to her home village just to fix her boomerang. There's nothing left in her village. It's all just burned away or wasted. They should've fixed Sango's excuse.

But this episode was great. Can't wait for next week.

Despite the differences from the manga story, I also thought this was an excellent episode. I winced in sympathy as Inu got body-slammed and the stunned, disbelieving expression on his face was so sad.

Toukajin's capturing Inu and others with his magic gourd actually makes a better type of sense than him eating them as in the manga. As to Miroku not using his wind tunnel to break a hole in the mini-village wall, I think it's a case of him not knowing what they're up against so he's being cautious. Also funny was his sort of "Cat's away so mouse will play" look as Sango left to fix her boomerang. She probably went back to her village because the cave would still have the tools etc. needed for fixing her weapon. (When she broke it in the manga, I recall that it was Totosai the smith who repaired it.)

An Inu episode that was time well spent. Next week promises an excellent conclusion. (^_*)

She probably needed tools from her village to fix her boomerang with that were too heavy to carry will her on her travels.

A vacation gone horribly wrong turns into one of the more off the wall IY episodes this season. It also satisfies the rule that the main character in an action show must be shrunken at least once.

That said, this episode was interesting. We're getting some more character development, which is suprisingly Naraku and Kikyo free. And that's a good thing.

B+ if you don't count Shippo's commentary. (Except that cat's away clip at the beggining)

Must have strong skin too, as IY's not bleeding AT ALL. He should have at least coughed up some blood.

The episode was pretty decent. I kinda wish they just had a IY/Miroku adventure without Kagome or Sango visiting. Then after that, have Sango and Kagome in their own perils without the others lending them a hand.

Man, I wish Kagome had gone back to her own time and studied for the exams she loves so much. :p

It was great to finally see this episode arc! I've been waiting for a long time. I love how Inu's sword is drawn to the scabbard. Comes in handy, as we saw. It was also amazing, dog-boy wasn't Inu-soup with that crushing sumo slam. Damn, that must have hurt!

Good IY ep, although I gotta admit I prefer the manga version on this one (Peach Guy just seems even more horrific somehow in the manga), plus no need for odd excuses to get rid of Sango for a couple eps. Also, didn't that whole "perfect test score" sequence get used at least once before in another ep?

Surprising to see that a jewel shard could deflect the Tetsusaiga like that.
Are you sure it was just the power of the jewel shard? What about any power the guy is getting from eating the fruits of the demon tree?

Anyhoo, I'm giving this ep a B+: it's pretty well-done, but feels a bit awkward in places. Upping it on the scale: no real "recap the story" sequences! :D

An entertaining episode of Inuyasha, the only drawback was it is a 2 parter.. Which is such a pain at once a week, because you know that at the end of this episode you'll get no closure.

Interesting that Kagome was dreaming of doing well on her tests, obviously keeping her life going in her original time is important to her. Obviously the need to study goes away when the gang discovers the human fruit.. I am totally thinking now that probably Kagome won't even make it for the test. But, because of Kagome previously wanting to go for 3 days, Sango jumps at the chance to use that time to go back to her village and fix her weapon. I loved how Miroku was talking about how he can relax now, once she had left.

Funny to see the human fruits, obviously i wasn't the only one to think of the Super Mario beets/turnips. While watching it with my friend, a similarity to the gang falling into the mini village and shrinking to when Mario jumps through the paintings as a comparison.. but that one's a bit of a stretch. It would've been funny if the liquid in that jar that Inuyasha was imprisoned in had melted his kimino down to a overalls and a hat. :p

I'm always intrigued whenever Human Inuyasha fights. I liked how he remembered the sheath was calling Tetsusaiga and he used it to penetrate his imprisonment and escape.

The only thing that bugged me, was that if I was Inuyasha, when I had first gotten up on the top of the cliff, instead of talking to that Toukajin, I would've done what I had said I was going to do.. CHOP DOWN THE DAMN TREE!!! .. He said he was going to do that, and instead he goes after Toukajin.. Makes no sense.. but then again, this was to be a 2 parter, and we are talkinga bout Inuyasha here, not exactly the tactical expert.

I give "Fateful Night In Togenkyo" a B-

These Talkbacks get pretty borinig. Everyone reviews the show, but then we never discuss it with each other. You should see the Toonami Forums (most of you do anyway) there are alot of reviews, but alot of Discussions come up after that.

IIRC, Toukajin said that it was the shard that deflected the Tetsusaiga.
Hmmm, I'd forgotten that. (Although, just to be nitpicky, I have to wonder how Toukajin would know - I kinda doubt he's an expert on jewel shards and their powers, and he doesn't really seem like the type who fights lots of demons and so would have a lot of other fights to compare this one with! :D :p But eh, if Toukajin says that's what it is, then that's what it must be! Too bad, though, 'cause it's a little boring always having anything out of the ordinary be caused by a shard of the Shikon Jewel. In a world that has demons and half-demons and magical swords, etc, etc, it does seem like there should be other things besides the jewel shards which occasionally come into play. I mean, he's been subsisting on the fruit of a demon tree for heaven knows how long; has it's only effect been to make him pudgy? That would be really sad, not to mention a bit annoying! )

Anyhoo, thank you for the information! :)

What does ADR mean? (just want to know thats all)

No problem (though a simple Google seach could've done the same thing).
ADR = Additional Dialogue Recording, a.k.a. the technical term for dubbing.
