'Deja View', the PPG Ep that never was, has just been released in Comicbook form.

Powerpuff fans have long been anticipating this story, which, in the tradition of 'Mirror Mirror', involves the heroines being transported to an alternate dimension where the good and bad roles are reversed. Berserk, Brat, and Brute are the evil Powerpunk Girls, creations of mad scientist Oppressor Plutonium, and their nemesis is heroic superchimp Jomo Momo.

Now that it's finally out, how does 'Deja View' stack up?

I still don't understand why this episode was canned for the series, and only ended up as a comic. Did CN not like the concept of bizarro PPGs? Must I even say again how much I hate that executives have taken control of these cartoons?

According to Chris Cook, 'Deja View' was going to be largely CGI, but it ran over budget. For some reason, instead of making the ep in conventional animation, CN scrapped it entirely. Luckily, somebody liked the script (or maybe didn't want to take a total loss on the writer's fee), so it got passed on to DC for conversion into a comic instead.

While I'll always regret not getting to hear the PPG cast voicing the Alternate Dimension characters, the DC artists certainly did a fine job with their designs.
