The Shredder Strikes Back: Part One

While on a morning run on a stormy day, Leonardo gets ambushed by the Foot Clan. He must fight his way through every kind of foes the turtles have come against thus far and even he’s never encountered before. Will Leo make it through this grueling task or will his stamina fail him?

Authors Note: This episode has some of the best fighting sequences seen in the series thus far. You wont want to miss it!

The Shredder Strikes Back: Part Two

The fight against the Foot Clan progresses into April apartment and antique shop. Leo is badly injured so it’s up to the other three turtles and Splinter to hold off the onslaught so April can get Leo to safety. Lucky for the turtles a certain vigilante in a hockey mask may make a visit but Shredder’s out for blood this time (isn’t he always?) and he’s taking no prisoners.

Tales of Leo

After a narrow escape from April’s exploding apartment, Casey takes his friends to his old farm cottage in North Hampton. Leonardo still isn’t doing well so the other three and Splinter try progress his spiritual healing by telling him inspiring stories of his past.

Authors Note: This episode is moderately entertaining but you can't deny that the pre-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles aren't cute

Monster Hunter

Some kind of green figure has been spotted in the woods around Casey’s farm and a well known investigator of the abnormal plans to capture it. Now the turtles have to stay out of sight and out of mind and throw the monster hunter off their trail… but maybe they aren’t the only green figures around.

Authors Note: I know she's a woman but dang she looks like a man... it's creepy...

Return to New York: Part One

The turtles return to New York to take on Shredder and all of his forces. Step one: break into the Shredder’s Sky Scraper. Step two: Fight their way to the top. Step three: Live long enough to get to Step three. No body ever said taking out an elaborate criminal organization would be easy, but the turtles will soon discover they don’t know the half of it.

Authors Note: This episode/arc is based on the Return to New York arc of the Mirage comics. It is suprisingly accurate even with the added characters. Part's 2 and 3 will be on next week. You wont want to miss this one, it's the best of the season (IMO).

NOTES

This show is vastly different from the old cartoons, so if you are seeing it for the first time and have only seen the old show then you may not like what you see, but give it some time… you will not be disappointed
This week includes one of the best two parters in season 1 and also has some of best fighting in season 1
"The King" is being skipped for some reason. It originally aired before "The Shredder Strikes Back: Part One". I think it's so "Turtles in Space" (the season 2 opener) could air all 5 parts in one week but it's a shame they didn't get rid of "Monster Hunter" or another less interesting episode instead... but I guess "The King" (though it's based on one of the comics) had the least relevance to the series.
Week 4 of the Turtles on CN 5 days a week. You know I'm love'n it.

Can I get a cowabunga?

Sucks they're getting rid of "The King". I hadn't seen it, but from what I heard, it has Jack Kirby in it, one of the comic legends. Of course it's not his voice (Mike Pollock does it. He's Eggman on Sonic X, Meat on Ultimate Muscle, and itsamike on Toonzone) but still I heard that episode is cool. Oh well. Hopefully they'll replay after showing the other episodes. Speaking of which, how many of the TMNT episodes will air on CN anyway? Their site on CN.com goes up to episode 52. Is it that or a lesser point?

Mike did a great job as Kirby. It's a shame they skipped that episode. It was quite entertaining.

This is where I stopped watching TMNT on the FoxBox due to schedualing issues. THis should be mighty interesting.

Mike does a great job at sounding like him, just like the VA who played Dan Turpin on STAS did a great emulation of Jack K.

Return to New York begins this week...mark it under "can't miss" status (especially part 3).

oh, my freakin shell..

Man, SSB1 and 2 sooo totally rocked!!

Awesome fight choreography, lots of tension and even a semi-tender moment between april and casy. This is what TMNT should be. Man, this is sweet!

Wow, I never thought this show was going to be this vicious. I never cuaght the FoxBox broadcast of it, so I'm coming in fresh. I keep thinking about the original live action movie when I see all of this, since they're pretty much runing down the same plot line, even if alot of the details have bene changed. Looking forward to where this is going.

My guess is that they're going to play the director's cut, which is why it was thrown out of order.

Hmmm, that may make sense. So I guess it will air on the second airing. I still want to know though, how many episodes are airing on CN anyway? I mean, is it going just up to the "Turtles In Space" arc, or is it going past that?

At the moment they aren't going further than the Turtles in Space arc. They have over half of season 2 though so I'm not sure why they are stopping there... I they could have cut it off at Reflections rather than a semi-cliff hanger... meh... CN beging stupid as usual.

The Fox Box leaves off with 3 episodes remaining in the "season" which they'll hold off until Fall. BTW, reguardless if you've been watching on Saturday or not WATCH THIS SATURDAY. Usagi is back! Not sure how long is part will be this Saturday but he was in the promo.
