From: Michigan (Samurai) Jack Fans
Hello-
How would someone go about getting a note to Genndy Tartakovsky's 'people' to let them know over 8000 fans would like to see the Samurai Jack series completed?
I emailed Cartoon Network (cartooncomments@turner.com) last week and received a very polite and personal reply back, but was told we (fans) somehow needed to let Tartakovsky know. (They also failed to explain why they decided not to air the last four episodes, but cited 'sagging ratings' for its recent hiatus. This doesn't surprise me considering how they've moved the show's timeslot around since last Fall. I feel so 'Farscaped'.)
Anyhow, if anyone knows where an email or a fax might get to the right people, let us know.
Thanks-
CookieS

Honestly, I have no idea. The rumor is that Genndy left Cartoon Network to work at Lucas Films. Apparently George enjoyed his work on Samurai Jack and Clone Wars so much, he's been hired on to the new staff full-time. I don't know what kind of project is in the works if this rumor is true.
As for Samurai Jack, I think everyone will agree with you that the series needs an ending. The last 4 unaired episodes are not the finale saga everyone hopes for. Those have been unaired because of CN's decision, not Genndy's.
I think that Samurai Jack hit the traditional 52 episode limit. Cartoon Network has a bad habit of capping off shows after they hit that many episodes. I would assume that if the creator really wanted to continue, the network would have put it under consideration. Who really knows the fate of the series though. Perhaps it was CN arguing the series pulled in low ratings and didn't want to continue. Perhaps Genndy was tired of battling the network to keep his projects going. Perhaps he was offered work elsewhere? No one knows.

The best thing to do is write directly...and I mean, DIRECTLY! to the studio itself. (I'm sure somebody at ToonZone has the address for Cartoon Network Studios in their little Rolodex).

I know what you probably ment, but I'm gonna' correct ya' anyway. ;)
I'm pretty sure the rumor is that George offered Genndy a job over at Lucas' new Animation division they've been slowly building up for about a year now. Where as LucasFilms doesn't really deal with the whole animation aspect that would likely appeal to Genndy.
We've been hearing that Tartakovsky is absolutely dying to do a theatrical animation film, and LucasAnimation just might be his ticket to do that. Where as Cartoon Network has hidden in it's perverbial shell since the PPG barely broke even.

I really hope that CN would show the last four episodes to the show and that way they should end on a good note! :)

Pardon me asking but I still don't get why Genndy wants to make a movie so much, why not just keep going with SJ and finish it up in the right form. I really hope that Genndy does not leave CN for good because well alot of good things have come from him, SJ, Dexter's Lab, Clone wars and he may come out with another great cartoon hopefully.

What are you saying there? LucasArts produces videogames. Not sure if that's what Genndy had in mind.

Or mayby Genndy T. wanted to see how George makes the new Star Wars movie that is coming on 2005, next year.

Genndy should make a cartoon based off the Star Wars Kid, in the style of Samurai Jack. Nuff said.

Many moons ago, the plan was for Luca$ to make 9 Star Wars movies with 3 of them set after Return of The Jedi. Since screwing up the prequels, Luca$ has said that he won't be doing more than 6. Wouldn't it be cool to get Genndy to do the last 3 movies in animated form, though?
Who wouldn't love to see animated versions of Luke, Leia, Han Solo, etc, and it probably wouldn't even be that expensive to get the original guys to do the voices, except maybe Harrison Ford, but given how his movie career is going, perhaps he won't be that expensive for much longer :)

Not that Lucas (He who is without chin) couldn't afford to pay.
