View Full Version : CN Schedule Revision - May 10th
Killtacular

WEEKNIGHTS
10:30 PM - Jackie Chan Adventures (replaces Dragon Ball GT)
TOONAMI
May 15th
8:30 PM - MEGAS XLR - #2: Battle Royale (replaces "Fat and the Furious")
9:00 PM - MEGAS XLR - #3: All I Wanted Was a Slushie (replaces "The Bad Guy")
Guess DBGT ain't pulling in ratings. And MEGAS is going chronologically now. That's nice and all, but WHY are they running Test Drive on the 8th?! Can we just do May 15th's schedule on May 8th? I mean that makes much more sense if you ask me.

I mean that makes much more sense if you ask me.Oh, sense went out the window at Cartoon Network back in early 2001. If anything makes sense, you know they're not gonna do it. That's the nature of all things.
Oh, sense went out the window at Cartoon Network back in early 2001. If anything makes sense, you know they're not gonna do it. That's the nature of all things.
Then let's e-mail CN the following:
"Just so you don't do it....Putting the Flintstones, Jetsons, and Looney Tunes on daily would not make sense. So don't do it!"
*1 Month later*
Flintstones, Jetsons and LT are on daily! :D
Of all things to replace DBGT with...
Anyway, so the Toonami schedule is going to be
7 - Duel Masters
7.5 - MOVIE
8.5 - Megas XLR
9 - Megas XLR
9.5 - Yu Yu Hakusho
10 - DBGT
10.5 - Gundam SEED
right?

Good. I think Jackie Chan is a heck of a lot better than that irritating DBGT.

It's nice to know that they are running them in order, but what will air on May 8th?
8:30 PM- Megas XLR "Test Drive"
9:00 PM- Megas XLR "Battle Royal"
Is it the two episodes above?

Just out of curiosity, what would you guys rather have replacing DBGT at 10:30pm? Cyborg 009 premieres or Kenshin premieres?

I'd settle for Kenshin's second season getting another run. It only got one afterall. I'd also like to see DBZ season 4 again. It hasn't been on in far too long... even though every other season has had a ton of air time in the past two years.

I would love Kenshin's third season, even without having seen the second, but I would love Kenshin anyway it came. Even though Cyborg 009 is up there in my favorites of CN, I also just started watching Kenshin and find them both superb. I would prefer Kenshin premiers, though.

Cyborg 009. It just seems much more appropriate as a lead-in to Adult Swim than Kenshin filler would.
However, Kenshin would be great on Toonami. :p

Tough, but I'd go with 009 since Kenshin is out on DVD for the third season, and I've heard it isn't as good as the rest of the series.

Cancelled, I think that Kenshin would make a far better lead-in to Adult Swim. Cyborg 009 is a good show but I don't think it'd feel right at 10:30. Kenshin would probably do a better job of pulling in the same crowd that watched Justice League at 10:30, and Samurai Jack at 10:30, and the various other shows running at 10:30. Plus I believe the third arc of Kenshin is just a bit longer than the second episode order of Cyborg 009, so running it on weekdays works better.
Cyborg 009 has a stronger kids pull than Kenshin, so I think putting it on at 10:30 may be risky, considering kids would then stay glued to the set for Adult Swim. I think 9-14 material works better in the 10 PM hour.
Unrealistic demand: Bugs & Daffy, Flintstones, or Jetsons might be good shows to run from 10-11 in the future too, what with their respective DVD releases, and their tendency to bring in adult viewers.

Yes, Kenshin would be a better lead-in program for Adult Swim.
But then again, anything would be a better lead-in program than DragonBall GT or Jackie Chan Adventures.

Just out of curiosity, what would you guys rather have replacing DBGT at 10:30pm? Cyborg 009 premieres or Kenshin premieres?
Definitely Rurouni Kenshin! Because I don't doubt that Cyborg 009 will air at some point anyway (I can't see CN acquiring a whole new season to just not air any of it), I would rather Kenshin come back. While it may not be the best series for drawing in kids, it would be a good lead-in for Adult Swim. Plus, I could be wrong, but I can't see CN being too concerned with Kids ratings at 10:30 PM on a weeknight. If I couldn't have Kenshin, I would definitely still take Cyborg 009. Jackie Chan is good enough, but most everyone can already catch it daily on Kids WB.

Tho, one wonders why two Toonami shows were suggested...

Good point Knux. With all of the stuff CN has to choose from why JCA or why Kenshin or Cyborg 009. They've got a lot of stuff in their library. Why not a Loony tunes type show even. Adults and Kids watch that. Not that they go for it.
At least Totally Spies wasn't suggested.

Because Toonami goes for teens now and it's the bridge!

you know what'd make a great lead-in? MTV's Spiderman, now if only CN would make nice with Mainframe and Viacom

How can it if they keep changing the schedule on it? Besides, you said this was for weeknights right? There are only what, 13 episodes that have aired so far (17-30)?

The only reasons people don't think it is good is because it has nothing to do with the manga. Personally I liked most of the arcs (I liked the Evil Christians Arc, the Black Knights from Germany, the episode where Aoshii comes to Tokyo to get Misato home, and the Feng Shui saga. Those eps were most of the season.

Yeah, just found out. I also found out why.
Since several of the lead-in movies run short the CN brass decided to use the oppurtunity to air a Megas episode. So for a couple of weeks, at least, we'll be getting two Megases (Megii?). First, a repeat of last week's Megas, then the new one at 9 o'clock.

for me, I would rather have Kenshin premieres since according to Sean A, ratings for RK were not exactly in the demographic they wanted and since AS is before than I guess it would work. Plus I want 009 to premiere on Toonami saturdays.

The only reasons people don't think it is good is because it has nothing to do with the manga.
Actually, in addition, the third and last arc of Rurouni Kenshin got Japanese TV ratings so bad that RK became one of the rare instances when an anime was actually cancelled in the middle of production - with one ep not even bothered to air!
