I was thinking about getting a drawing tablet for my computer, but I have no clue about what's good or not. I was looking on ebay, and I guess Wacom's must be pretty good, since they're kind of expensive. There were also other brands that cost a dollar or so. I'm not looking to spend a lot, since I suck, but I just thought it would be cool to doodle around on. If anybody had any suggestions, it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Wacom is the best brand for drawing tablets (That's why they're referred to as "wacom tablets", just as how some people called a tissue a kleenex).

I wouldn't buy anything that costs only a dollar, even if it is cheap. Remember the proverb: "The poor man buys twice". It means that the cheap person will usually buy something more inexpensive and end up having to buy the better thing anyway to get anything done.

Wacom makes two kinds of tablets: Intous, and Graphire. Intous is for the hardcore computer artist or video editer. It's got twice the pressure sensitivity as the Graphire, and has buttons on the tablet. It also comes in more sizes than the Graphire (The graphire is only offered in 4x5 which is about the size of your mousepad).

I use a Graphire. Since I do computer generated art frequently, it's kind of lacking, but it was nicer to my purse and still gets the job done :) I think it's more user-friendly than the Intous, a lot "cuter" and coming in nifty imac colors.

Here's a link to a discussion on Wacom tablets (It doesn't say anything about any other brands). It also links to Wacom's site and the two tablets' specs: http://myst.org/ithil/ttablets.html

Hope that helped.
