Well I can punch things in the game... I know that. It looks okay, can't really judge from the trailer, I'm glad that we'll be able to work the streets in it. My only beef is about the lighting, the one scene that seems to take place in the Bebop was just to light and vibrant.

Looks better than the last Bebop game, but that isn't saying much.

Anyone heard about them getting the VA cast for the game?

It doesn't look too bad. It would have helped if the trailer were somewhat longer, even if it were just location shots, but it gave me a good enough look to keep me more than alittle interested.

Huh.

This can either be a good beat-em-up....or a not-so-good beat-em-up. And history has shown that the latter happens more often than the former. I'm hoping that isn't the case with this game, but...what can you do?

A CB game should be like Metal Gear Solid and have air ship levels for kicks. I hope this isn't just a beat 'em up. A single player brawler with just Spike to play as is a WASTE of technology. It's the new TMNT game all over again only even worse (is that possible?!?!?)

/hopes for non-suckinessWell it has Bandai's logo on it, so the odds are already heavily against you.

At the very least, it does look better than that other CB game.

All I can say is that they've got the whole thing down, graphicly. Though it kinda bothers me that people still develope for the PS2 when more powerful hardware is out there.

I guess it comes down to the target audiences. Either that or that Bandai only makes stuff for Sony (specifically Playstation 2).

Playstation2 has the largest userbase of the three current systems...more people are able to buy the game then...

Sofar bandai has suceeded well with .hack, but the games arn't anything 5 star worthy though...

I'll swallow my hat when Bandai/Banpresto delivers something better than a two star game. Really I will.

What is that supposed to mean? Unless you have a top of the line PC, no there isn't.

Hardware-wise, X-Box is more powerful than the PS2.

Judy's CGI boobies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But otherwise, an unimpressive trailer.

In terms of hardware, both Gamecube and (on average) even the Dreamcast outdo the PS2, as well... Heck, even low-end PC's typically outdo the PS2...

Stupid Bandai. They should have modeled Bebop after the new James Bond game.

I'll swallow my hat when Bandai/Banpresto delivers something better than a two star game. Really I will. The Super Robot Wars series, my friend, the Super Robot Wars series.....

But anyways, for the trailer, I too, have to share a unenthusiastic "meh". The PS2 already has enough mediocre action games to consider them a genre of their own.

Thanks for the link.

Hmm, why do I get the strange feeling that this will be a Grand Theft Auto type of game :(

Definitely looks like an interesting game.. I'll at least rent it.

Good ol' Cowboy Bebop, here's hoping to a good game.

Sure do =D (though I'm broke because of it)

Plus GC and Xbox are capable of rendering more than the PS2 can.

The Super Famicom had plenty of good titles from them.

My personal favorites... DBZ Super Butoden II, DBZ Hyper Dimensions, and Gundam Wing Endless Duel. Well worth importing if you can get 'em.

Don't forget Silent Bomber and Gundam Battle Assault 2 for the PS1.

Don't forget Silent Bomber and Gundam Battle Assault 2 for the PS1.Silent Bomber is a great game, but it had the worst ad campagin ever "This Game Really Blows" was the tag line sure it makes sense, but for the uninformed they will just think the game actually "blows."

As for the new Cowboy Bebop game it shows promise, but I still have my doubts on it actually being any good. I will buy it non the less though just because im a huge fan of the series.

I've argued about this, and I've heard about this..only from Nintendo junkies. I went through this witha friend when I had PS1..and him an N64. The games looked the same on both systems. Now I hear this for PS2 as compared to Gamecube. I know Xbox is the most powerful system, thats a fact. If gamecube is better.why dont the games look better than PS2 games? So far, the best looking games are on PS2. Don't get me wrong, there are some great looking games for Gamecube, just nothing that outdoes PS2 graphics. So people can try to say its better, but I say..if the graphics arent as good, how can it be better?

You honestly can't tell the difference in graphics between the PS1 and the N64...? Ooookay. (Truthfully, neither was all that great. The former was blocky / jagged, and the latter was blurry. Whee.)

If gamecube is better. Why dont the games look better than PS2 games?

In terms of identical, non-exclusive games on both systems... blame the developers for targetting the PS2, and not updating everything to the GC level when they port it over.

PS2 has more variety of games, but last year, the big winner in terms of appearance/graphics among the console trade publications was actually The Legend of Zelda: Windwalker.

Bandai should spend their funds towards Silent Bomber 2 instead of Bebop. Nuff said.

All I'm saying is so what if gamecube has better hardware. I'd rather go with PS2 and better games(not to mention most of the games look better than Gamecube games anyway), like Silent Hill, MEtal Gear Solid (Snake Eater looks great so far).

So you prefer the PS2's library... No one ever said the PS2 didn't have a decent library. But what does that have to do with one system having better hardware than another?

I thought this was about someone being bothered that developers are aiming at the lowest common denominator when it comes to a console's hardware, since that's where the largest user base is.

Note:

All I can say is that they've got the whole thing down, graphicly. Though it kinda bothers me that people still develop for the PS2 when more powerful hardware is out there. I guess it comes down to the target audiences.

Anyway...

"Looks better" is very subjective. If you prefer the "look" of PS2 titles, then fine. However, I'm going to insist that you're blind if you think the graphics themselves are better. ;-)

Anyway, getting back on topic, yeah, decent as the new Bebop game looks, it'd be nice to see this running on Gamecube level or higher hardware.

Bandai should spend their funds towards Silent Bomber 2 instead of Bebop. Nuff said.A Silent Bomber sequel would be great, but the chances are slim and none since the orginal didn't sell well at all.

I can claim the same thing. If you think Gamecube games look better, then I'd have to insist you look again. Nintendo always claims their systems are more powerfula nd have better graphics, but they NEVER live up to that. They never use the full potential of their hardware, and they havent yet. So yes, I'm saying right now PS2 games look better..graphics wise, not just my preference. IF Nintendo finally decides to use the full potential of the hardware, then fine, but until then, the graphics will just continue to look the same at best.

I can claim the same thing.

Claim what you like, but the hardware is what it is.

As this is really getting off topic, if you'd like to continue the argument over at the Video Game forum, by all means, do so. Post links to some examples of what you feel are the best examples of the PS2's abilities, and we'll do some comparisons. Whee.

2) You're entitled to your own opinion, I suppose
3) You may be saying this because many Nintendo games are styled as "cartoons" rather than "lifelike," in which most cases GameCube games still have better graphics
4) Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero have better graphics than anything I've seen on PS2

...No, I don't hate PS2. I have one of my own, as well as a GameCube. I'm just saying... that's all.

As the for the PS2 Bebop game, I hope it doesn't suck. I won't both trying to view the trailer because my computer sucks... =( Anyone have screenshots?

Thank you, friend. ^_^

Well, now I guess the only thing we can do is wait to see if this game is good or if it sucks... of course the Bebop fan within me will get this game no matter what I hear about it to judge it for myself.
