So because the ecent es of the SNakemen were voilent, parents WHINED and Heman was cancelled! Now CN removed it from it's station too.
gez.... Justice League is alot more "Mature" then He-Man and I don't see parents whining about that. Not that I hate JL,I LOVE it but I was so close to seeing She Ra:(
What? The show was cancelled because it only received average ratings. I've never heard any case of parents whining.

Err, well this was discussed almost a month ago in the Toonami forum. Here is the link to that thread. (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=103129&page=1&pp=20) Based on what was said in that thread, it is being/will be/might be (it appears to be unclear) canceled due to what Obi said and domestic toy sales.
Oh well.

Thats stupid if the parents were whining don't let the kid watch it! There were probubly parents that didn't mind.

There will be no more He-Man in the domestic market, only the international one. Mattel released a press release stating they will continue the figures overseas, and if we want them, we will have to have them specially imported through specialty shops or online. They also said if they make more episodes, they will probably go direct to DVD here.
Unfortunately I no longer see the chances of getting DVDs in America, especially for the new series. Once the UK gets the new series, I'm going to order it.

The reason you stated why MOTU failed is wrong, infact it was poor sales and case ratios that did MOTU in, not parent groups. It's the same with Mattel's Batman line, only difference is that Batman is not their own licence. So Batman lives on while He-Man dies.
Granted Parental Groups do incite massive outrage among certain things, but they did not have a hand in this.

I hate to play devil's advocate but I probably would've bought the figures if they were a tad more articulated, elbows, knees and necks would've been nice and even if not I STILL want snake armor he-man

Yeah the case ratios weren't all that was bad with MOTU, the sucky articulation for another thing*hell more Mini-Cons have knees!* Some of the larger Arm figs had knees, most atleast had elbows! Also the MOTU show IMO was stale and not really exciting, the best things about it was the villans, not the good guys and thats probably another reason it only had average ratings, kids didn't like the show either!!!

Also minicons that had knees like the Street Speed Team were really flimsey. Not alot of Minicons had knees...

Funny, of all three Marvel Legend figs in my house none have loose joints, Mattel was probably just to cheap to add them, cause they could easily be stable.
And on the Mini-Cons with knees i can name ALOT.
As you said street speed team*don't blame the molds, it was the crap plastic used for them* Runway and Jetstorm from the air defense/air assult teams*Star Saber/Dark Saber* Jolt, Leader-1, all three members of the sea team, Cyclonus' Mini-Con, Blurr's Mini-Con, two members of the adventure team, both of Sideway's Mini-Cons, all three members of the ground assult team*though one is loose cause they are only really used for transformation and one is just for transformation since his hips can't move with em* Smokescreen's Mini-Con, Demolishor's Mini-Con, one member of the race team*Skyboom Shield* Prowl from the emergency team*though they definitly for transformation* Scavenger's Mini-Con*Rollbar* two members from the space team*the shuttle and truck thingy* A member or two from the air assult team MIGHT have knees, not sure, don't got em, just seen pics, Thrust's Mini-Con i believe has knees, Tidal-Wave's Mini-Con has knees that look stable but they don't look useful heh, i think Red Alert's Mini-Con has knees. Thats like all i know, but that is like more then half the Mini-Cons hehe.

elbows, knees and necks would've been nice From what I've seen, the articulation is no worse than the original 80's figures. The designs are a lot more detailed though, the 80's figures recycled body parts and armor far too much.

Most of those are flip legs, they don't really have true knees. Granted you can make them flex, but to transform they are suppsed to fold up, so they can extend past the regular fexibility of true knees...

Well, duh. There's no license fees Mattel has to pay to make toys.

Oh wow. Mattel wants to keep getting money from fans.
They already knew previous to the petition that He-Man has a huge collector fanbase, so OF COURSE they'll want to find a way to keep them buying.

It's just frustrating, because the toys had bad case ratios and almost no advertising...

Just like the 80's He-man series, this new series relies heavily on merchandising. The original series was actually made AFTER the toys were in production. They used the little snipplets of plot from the back of the packaging to create scripts for the Filmation cartoon. Now look at 2002, with the He-man revival. The toys (supposed to be for kids) are a lot more expensive and more lavish. They're collector's items, and the extra expense always comes back to the customer. I recall the days when action figures were $4.99 maxinum (early 90s) and anything more was outrageously gouged. Today, average prices are somewhere between $8-$10 and up. I honestly don't think the marketing for He-man was entirely self-reliant or directed to "new" fans much. The new cartoons skews much older in demographic and simply doesn't get as many younger viewers (the kinds that buys toys to play with) to cough up their parent's money.
Its a classic case of how nastalgia just doesn't cut it. The character of He-man is great, and is pretty timeless, but right now the plot and character are secondary to sales. He-man was born out of an economic boom, and he shall die again, on an economic downfall.
One of the funniest things I read about the new He-Man was in an interview with Mattel where the rep. said that one of the things kids didn't like about the new show was that it wasn't "anime" enough.

One, the case ratios seemed to benefit scalpers more than older fans and kids. The manufacturer gets cheated, the retailer gets peg-warming He-Man and Skeletor variants cluttering up shelves, the older fans pay up through the secondary market or repeated transportation costs, and the kids move on to another toyline.
Second, where was the trading card tie-in? Center it around Filmation's Gamemaster villain.

i don't blame the network i blame the parents i mean the ratings is on every begining of a show so if the parents don't want their kids to watch they should pay more attention to the ratings and what their kids watching also most tvs have parental control why don't they use that for a change if they don't like what kids r watching, bring he-man back on damn it, blame parents it their fault not the network . "parents kids r bad " it the parents fault.
even if they don't air the he-man series they should still keep making new ones and putting them out on dvd for does who still want to see it.

Strange, since when was "Anime" a verb?
I would've said it was an adjective when used that way...

bad case ratios? not from mattel? never!
i saw the He-Man figs and they looked pretty good, especially Evil-Lyn...and they were selling quite well in my market anyway. The pegs were usually bare.
i hate the way Mattel distributes properties like Justice League and Batman. I had to buy Hawkgirl, Wonder Woman, and Martian Manhunter either online or at cons and specialty stores. Same goes for the Batman toyline. I was lucky to find 2 Zipline Batmans but I had to go online to buy Robin, The Joker, Croc, and Freeze. guess what Mattel, scalpers are making money that should be in your pockets. sell more villains and less variants and you'd see less clutter on the shelves. kids don't want artic shield batman or sewer scuba batman...they dont want day-glow skeletor or jungle camo he-man. sell more basic figures!!!
oh...and would it kill them to make more villains for Justice League. All I have is Luthor. I hear Darkseid is out and Humanite is next. fat chance finding those at retail stores.

I imagine so. I can't imagine it's broken even yet.

Scalpers aren't just bad for Mattel. A scalper might be a quick sale, but a fan of any age is an investment that a store should invest in by limiting indivdual figure purchases.
