View Full Version : Weirdest. Transformers commercial. EVER.
You know how CN's been pimping the "Battle for Megatron" game and how you can see the new Megatron at Wal-Mart?
Well, they just aired a new commercial where they interview kids (one of them who looks like he's out of Hasbro's target deomgraphic by a few years...), one holding Scorponok and the other holding Optimus, AND THEIR MOTHER. The kids say something about how they had trouble transforming some TFs (what?! Energon's pretty darn simple) and how when they found out about the new Megatron they decided they had to have him. Then the mom says something unimportant and how they'll definitely go to Wal-Mart to get him. And then the kids do some stupid laugh and say "Megatron, I'll get you!". And then they go to Wal-Mart and see a giant Megatron looking down at them. And then they make sure to point out that he's only at Wal-Mart for now!
Weird.

Anyway, if I go to Walmart tommorow, they better still have the giant Megatron coughGalvatroncough there so I can buy him. :p

I checked out one local Walmart and they had every Energon transformer except Megatron/Galvatron.

Not as weird as that G1 ad on X-Entertainment somewhere where a kid flips in the air and TURNS INTO A GUN.

What do you mean $40? I thought he was only $25? If he is more than $25, forget it!
But I want the really tall one, like off the commercial. How tall was it? 20 ft?

All commericals are weird and stupid. The person who invented them should be hanged, burned, and shot in the back all at the same time... Wait, he's probably already dead.
Anyhoo, its sounds like a stupid commercial to me. But the stupidest commericals I've seen are the Yaffa commercials.
....good thing the happiness will be knocked out of the kids when they grow up.

You should have seen the old '80's Transformers commercials. They actually featured the animated characters, but there was also a bunch of kids (isn't there always?). At the end of the commercial, they would use that "Robots in Disguise" phrase. Naturally, the kid would look stupid mouthing along; but as he "spoke" sections of his face would shift until he actually looked like Starscream.

I haven't seen the commerical either. They always manage to slip a Transformer commerical during Armada or Energon. CN might reair the commerical tonight during the new episode. For the time being, click the link below to view old Transformers commericals

no, the wierdest commercial was for Beast Machines nightscream and ultra Jetstorm, it was bad enough with the kids doing some kind of wierd pokemon match over french fries with the figures, but the capper was when the kid who won used the phrase "nightscream likes extra ketchup" if that ain't a WTF moment I don't know what is

I need Megatron too
and Ultra Magnus if/when i see it ever in stores...
But I got all of RID and Armada however...
And a bunch of Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Beast Wars II, Beast Wars Neo, Machine Wars, G1, G2, Car Robots, Micron Legend, Universe, and Botcon Exlusives.
Yes over 700 atleast...
and that's not counting Zoids and other series
But I want Megatron, I think Amazon is getting him in soon however...

The one that always gets me is an old YTV "Beast Wars" spot. It focuses on Silverbolt and Black Arachnia's relationship and features some sappy 1950s style teenaged love song as background music. At one point the line "he makes all the other girls shout" is sung and the ad switches to a shot of Megatron roaring, only a teenaged girl screaming has been dubbed over it.
It was probably the only funny "keep it weird" commercial YTV ever made.
