Fred and Barney Meet the Batman?

While working my luxurious bagging job at the supermarket last night, I ran across the current Post cereal promotion featuring two CN favorites, the Flintstones and the "Justice League".

Basically, it's a promotion for JL trading cards (free in every box), with the front of the box depicting Fred and Barney hanging around the usual oversized bowl of Cocoa Pebbles, only with Batman standing behind the bowl, looming over the two cavemen.

Thought it made an even more unusual box cover than the "Fred and Barney as NASCAR fans" one, and wondered what it'd be like if there *were* such a thing as "Fred and Barney Meet the Batman" as a show (a la the infamous 70's rerun-combo shows "Fred and Barney Meet the Thing"/"Meet the Shmoo")---probably would be something like reruns of "The Flintstones" with reruns of B:TAS/TNBA in some hour long show-thingamajig, with a cheesy title scene that used recycled clips/stock footage of Bats and the cavemen running around doing, erm, stuff... :-)

Anyone else seen this box, or actually excited about the giveaway inside?

Well, not if "Fred and Barney Meet the Batman" was just a title for an hour-long series of reruns of "The Flintstones" and B:TAS (one ep of each filling the hour)... no Stone Age Batman/Fred and Barney running around in Bedrock/actual new episodes with that title as a theme required (there *is* a Stone Age Superman counterpart the Bedrock rugrats liked reading comics of, apparently---see the "Superstone" episode of the original Flintstones series...they also had Capt. Caveman, "the world's first superhero", show up in a few spinoffs...).

Of course, I'm also being "tongue-in-cheek" about the idea of actually airing such a show---it's a take-off on the late 70's shows "Fred and Barney Meet the Thing" and "Fred and Barney Meet the Shmoo"---the former was reruns of a FLintstones spinoff combined with episodes of cartoons about the Fantastic Four's "Thing" (same deal for the Shmoo)... no actual mingling of the Flintstones and superheroes occurred...


Still, all that said, such a rerun-fest would probably be more entertaining than some of what's on CN now...or at least would get B:TAS back on the air, anyway. :-)
