View Full Version : Would Cartoon Network be able to air a new She-Ra?

With the revamped He-Man going through a possibly fatal waiting period, without new cartoon episodes or toys on the way, I've been wondering if the return of She-Ra could give the MOTU legacy the breath of fresh air it did twenty years ago. But I'm not asking if you think she's worthy of coming back...I'm asking if you think a new She-Ra cartoon could last two seasons on Cartoon Network, and possibly give He-Man the boost he needs.

Thoughts?

He-Man is dead. She-Ra was a bad idea from the beggining anyway...

Meh. The chances of a She-Ra series even making it to production are very slim, given that He-Man's on it's death bed. I'm sure if it lasted, you'd probably see her show up (Along with He-Ro and references to The New Adventures), but I doubt we'll hear something along the lines of "She-Ra, premieiring March Xth at 7.0. By the girl power of Greyskull, only Toonami" any time soon.

It'd probably be on Miguzi actually... yeah He-Man didn't revive well. Maybe She-Ra could do better. I believe those toys did really well.

Maybe, but then again, I got to see only a couple of episodes before it disappeared completely into the ether, so maybe not too...

I wish they would, but as everyone said, if it didn't work for He-Man, it won't work for her. The only thing we can hope is that someday the old eps will find their way to Boomerang, or somewhere back to TV.

Not if the toyline consists of She-Ra variants and short-packed secondaries...

Mattel did some lousy work with case ratios back when the first Potter movie came out and just kept on going that way with their other action figure lines. Even YGO has short-packed figures.

And now...a convention exclusive She-Ra has been announced!

A bone thrown in the direction of She-Ravers and nothing more....

...or a sign of things to come?

A sign? Yes. A good sign? Depends on your point of view.

A sign that the MoTU franchise will bust back onto the scene? I doubt it. A sign that Mattel may shift its focus to specialty markets (and hence, no new toon). Possible.

It's possible that it could, but with the He-Man going off the air, the franchise might not come back. Too bad He-Man can't continue on CN, maybe it will continue on DVD, if Mattel still believes that it will do well in that area instead.
