Seeya! =D

Tomorrow I get to go in for surgery on my eye, cornea transplant, because my old one, apparently, decided it needed a divorce. The grounds? Some annoying disease in which the cornea of my right eye decides it doesn't like it's genetic restraints and points outward (karetoconus, or something).

So, tomorrow at 10 I get to be pumped full of drugs and higher than Joe could ever dream, get it removed and placed with another dead man's. Fun.

So, incase you don't see me, I'm probably dead, so:

Seeya! =D

though in actuality, I'll probably just be in a drug induced state of exhaustion all weekend and will see you monday night.

If it doesn't work can I have my eye back?

Seriously though, good luck with the surgery. It sounds pretty intricate to a layman such as myself, but it's really cool that that medicine can help alleviate these types of issues. So, until Monday...take care and ride those drug induced clouds of magical fluffiness back to the internet, and let us all know how the experience was and how much better things are for you. I am sure once it's all said and done you will feel like a million bucks of monopoly money. So here's to awesome 20/20 vision*.

Sounds like lots of fun! :D Good luck with the surgery, and we hope to see you back on the boards soon.

Edit: I just realised this realised this after I posted, but I find it kind ironic that I'm posting well wishes in a thread on someone's upcoming surgery - and I have "Doctor of Pain" as my user title! (it was a suggestion by Hero of Winds)

Wow, freaky. I've had major weird eye diseases before too, so good luck to you. May your corneas serve you well!

Wow. Umm. It's been almost 2 days. Am I the only one who's worried???
Then again, it was eye surgery and posting does require some use of the eye. Maybe Strawberry Jam's just resting.

I wonder if the replacement eye he's going to get is a different color?

You're not going to die, I assure you. I wish you the best of luck in surgery, and want you to know there is a wealth of people waiting for your return. Be calm and not fearful. :bosko:

Alive.

PS: Anesthesia is fun.

PPS: The overwhelming nausea afterwords is not.

I had a torn retina a few years back about scared me senseless. but I could never imagine having a coronea replaced with all the pain afterwards when i had my eye surgery few years ago had to wear a metal patch with a pirates eye patch over it for a few months when i had it off couldnt see a thing so blurry but its ok now. but hope everything is ok
