I love the game, but I consider myself an average player. Most people I know don't like the game, so I hardly ever get a chance to play with anybody else, but I do have a computer chess game that I am ok at (I can beat the computer on the middle setting, at least!)

I can be good, but only if I'm not under any time limit. I like spending hours contemplating one move. It does 2 things--piss your opponent off, and allows me to work out every possible scenario there is and react to it.

Hey that's cool I thought I was the only one who played chess here. I also consider myself an average chess player. Although I almost beat the head of my chess club, but I made a mistake in the endgame and it was a draw. i like chess alot although i am pretty bad and most of my friends dont i have recently thaught about collecting sets although i only have like 3

Chess rules,

Fundamentally my strategy and technique differ from those of most people I confront. You see where I learned to play chess we emphisized attack more then defense. I still have that idea to this very day. I to was at the higher end of my chess club, but alot of that I think had to do with psychological intimidation and fear of me. You see I knew the 4 move checkmate and other people didn't ;)
