All seven of them sat in Jason Blood's study, Caitlin asleep with exhaustion, Jason sitting calmly in a chair, staring ahead, eyes not focused on anything in particular.
"So what happened?" Jason asked scratching his head.
Bruce frowned, "An accident." he said shortly.
"It wasn't an accident." Jason assured, "Everything he did, what he did to me,... It never was an option to let him leave, guiltless, no remorse for what he did to me."
"There is always an option, you have to relize this Jason."
"You should know better than anyone else in this room, you think I don't remember, I was there, right in the middle of it. You all aren't the only people who lost somebody."
"Ummm, that still doesn't answer my question." Jason said coming between them. "Dick you've always had a good head on your shoulder's, now can you please explain to me what happened, and why you all need my help?"
Dick looked up, "Uh, yeah Mr. Blood, (sigh) Jason's grandfather is the Joker, Joker killed Harley, his grandmother, and his step-grandfather Eric. Andrew, his son, is Jason's dad, he married Kara, AKA Supergirl. Joker had Luthor kill Supergirl, Jason killed Joker in return."
Bruce frowned looking at Jason, but Jason's expression didn't change, then Jason opened his mouth to speak:
"Believe me Bruce, if I had seen another way, and felt that was good enough, I would have chose it. But you know as well as I did, there's no way in Hell anyone else but me could have gotten rid of him."
Silence.
Jason Blood looked at Caitlin, asleep on the sofa, "What about her?"
"She lost it, freaked out, who could blame her, she's only human."
Jason seemed satisfied with the answer, and went to his bookshelf. Pulling out a dusty old spell book, he looked at each of them.
"Little Jason,.."
"Yes Sir?" Jason answered.
"Do you want to retain your memory of what happened last night?"
Jason nodded "yes".
"Wake her." Jason said, refering to Caitlin.
Selina gently nudged Caitlin awake, grimacing slightly at her bloodshot eyes.
"Caitlin, do you want to retain your memory of what happened last night?"
"What?" Caitlin asked confused.
"In order to spare mankind from the horrors it has seen in these last few weeks, I'll give them the illusion of thinking this destruction was caused by a hurricane."
Caitlin's eyebrows went up in understanding, "Yes, Sir."
Selina looked at her, "Are you sure?"
"I want to remember everything I did tonight, I don't think I could stand myself if I took the coward's way out."
Bruce smiled.
"Okay then, it's settled." Jason said smiling, as he began the spell.
Everyone in the room slowly fell into a deep sleep.
Jason closed the book and smiled.
"Goodnight, everyone." Jason said, waiting for the world to re-set itself.
