That Sealab sucked is an understatement...I'd equate it with a painful heart stabbing.

Space Ghost's latest season REALLY REALLY owned. That was like the 6th time I saw "Eat A Peach" and it was still funny.

Mission Hill was great. Here are some highlights:

Barfly..."Its an adjective!"

Stogie repeatently barking in Andy's face was hilarious.

"I feel the sight of vomit is boring me...and I can't have that."

"Where'd you get a tooth?"
*point stupidly* "From my head."

"Something with a R...Steven!?"

Andy not knowing anything about Jim was great.

I like mission hill alot. I think the characters are people you can relate to and all that mushy stuff. Andy reminds me of me a little. Not the drinking, jobless (well, not anymore) Andy, but his use of words. I talk like that and it was funny to hear him say things that I've probably said once or twice. And the lazy Andy is more like me, too. Especially with the dog. My cats will wake me up and I'll just scream at someone to feed them until i relize that no ones home.

I'm glad they kept Mission Hill insted of the Oblongs. Mission Hill needs more exposure. And that theme song by Cake is so totally awesome. But, oh, all hope is lost when the Oblongs return in late Febuary. :-(

Oh and Hoo-Ha! Home Movies is #2 on the ratings list! Horrah! Time to PARTY!

No. In Japan, anime made for adults = hentai. Lupin != hentai.

In Japan, Lupin is considered a family show.

They wouldn't be considered adult, because they aren't hentai. The Japanese would probably consider them for the really obsesive geeks who still like anime even though they aren't kids. Not adult, but not family shows either.

Animation Otaku

Correct. The only difference is that they aren't really viewed as being for adults more than just for geeks. It's not like they're something most adults would enjoy. Teens and Adults that are anime fans, yes, but normally, no. Pretty much the same as over here.

On the first run? Has it ever? :D

Anyways, yeah, late night is geek time in Japan. Also, sometimes the producers and sponsors themselves outright buy the timeslot itself for their show so they can advertise their own products there (AFAIK this is illegal in the US, except when it's obviously an infomercial). That's how they are able to get funding from the sponsors to make the anime. That's why you see the anime (usually just after the OP) thanking its sponsors like Bandai or Mazda or whatever that may or may not have any relevance to the show. The rest of the funds come from video and merchandise sales.

In the US, the ad sponsors don't fund a show at that same timeslot as the ads. The production company and the network usually split the costs. Then they get payments from the ad sponsors. So the ad sponsors don't directly fund any show. In Japan, they do.

Does the closed captioning of CN for anyone else look as messed up as it does for me when I turn it on? Cause I get a bunch of weird crap and misspelled words.

Here are some CCs quotes:
Family Guy: "FU." From the CHiPS scene with the Erik Estrada character.
Powerpuff Girls: "DAMN" Mojo Jojo talking about a dam.

It only got an uncut run on a Pay Per View channel.I'd sure like to see those episodes premeire on DVD or something. By the way, are those 14 whole episodes, or bits and pieces equaling up to 14 episodes? Kinda how they did with Pioneer and Funi DBZ?-if ya know

Those 14 episodes were shown on Cartoon Network. Japan only played about half the series.

I'm assuming the CC means Closed Captioning, i.e. all the dialogue and sound effects are turned into text on the screen on the hearing-impaired.

And so yeh, I decided to just do the cards for Monday to Wednesday on Thursday if theres no new action cards. And this week there wasn't, so, that's what you get. If there ARE new Action cards though, you get the transcritps the next day in an optimistic viewpoint.

Tuesday coming up.

The Boards@AdultSwim.com have a great new look.

But the transistion from the old setup

was unsettling.

It reminds us for the first day of high school.

Excited to be in a new place

with no clue as to where anything is.

Where's our homeroom?

Nobody says much the first few days.

Even with the familiar faces in the crowd

we felt out of place.

then some Inuyasha fans showed up to whinge.

Felt just like grade school again.

Disjointed Program Note

Our next stunt drops March 21st

[drops is an Industry Term for "drops"]

Anyway,

Our next stunt:

[wait for it]

Flying Shark vs. Flying Crocodile Week

Oddly enough,

The Discovery Channel is running an eerily similar stunt

We enthusiastically endorse it.

Even though they cmpletely ripped us off.

Right after we ripped them off.

fata's okay though and not banned here!Would it matter if she was? Banned people are still people too, they just can't post and such. What, do have banniphobia or something?

I wonder....

DG = Duelist Goku
DG = Diana Gohan....

could they be one in the same?!  :eek:No. Although, they were both banned for presumed reasons, and some people didn't think they should've been banned, so you have to wonder...nah! I'm just messing with you. They're two different people.

I liked this week, one of my favorite CB episodes and great Lupin episodes. I just hope that there is at least a small chance for CN to rethink and get more Lupin episodes.
