We all have the Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Space Ghost: Coast to Coast DVDs. Now where are the rest of the shows? I'd like to see some DVD sets of Brak season 1 and Sealab 2021 season 1 in the same format as the other two. Other shows like Home Movies and Mission Hill should definately get season sets as well (Home Movies especially). So does anyone have any info on new DVD sets coming out? I heard about the ATHF volume 2 in the works, so will there be other SG:C2C volumes as well? Clue me in. Thanks.

If I recall, Brak Show and Sealab DVDs were not released at the same time as the other two shows because they hadn't officially completed their "first seasons" or some bull feces akin to that. I’m sure their status has changed since them, so DVDs will probably arrive soon enough, although I wouldn’t hold my breath. Nothing has been officially announced.

I forget the deal with Home Movies and Mission Hill, and whethet Warner Video has the right to release them or not.

I doubt it's "bull feces", it's probably just ligisitcs. Would you rather pay 30 for one set with 26 episodes, or 20 for one with 13, and another 20 for another one with 13?

This topic keeps getting thrown around, so I'll chime in with what may be the only real word that's officially come out. This is from an interview IGN did with Mike Lazzo last July (http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/427/427738p1.html), before the ATHF and SGC2C DVDs came out.

IGNFF: Ah, so there's an Adult Swim DVD coming up...

LAZZO: Oh yes! Aqua Teen and Space Ghost.

IGNFF: But no Sealab...

LAZZO: Not yet. We're waiting for a few more episodes. Because Aqua Teen is in production of 24, they know that they can get one out and still have other material. With Sealab, we've got to finish, really, the first season.

IGNFF: So technically we're still in the first season...

LAZZO: That's right. Technically, these are the last four in that – so they're not even completed. And then those will be released as well. Presumably, now that the Sealab season is officially ended, and Brak is officially done, they'll get to work on the DVDs now.

i also dont think it would be good marketing strategy to release them all at once.

So you're telling us that the ATHF and SGC2C DVD's didn't sell well when they were released the same day?

The last I heard, Home Movies was in licensing hell. I seem to recall hearing that somehow, Scholastic of all people wound up with the DVD rights to it. I could be wrong, though-- I'm sure there are some hardcore HM fans around who will correct me if I am.

No idea on Mission Hill.

From what I've heard, the ATHF DVD's have done extremely well (100,000+ copies sold), so we should at least be getting a "rest of Season 2/part of Season 3" set in the future.

Now that I've seen all of Season 3 of ATHF, that's exactly what I want. ALL of it.

Oh yes, bring on the Sealab set, as well..

Any word on how well SGC2C sold?

Space Ghost has had a big backlog though, I've seen a dozen at Best Buy and even more at Suncoast. Though Best Buy sells it in the Kids' Section (Used to be in the TV shows section, then in the Comedy section.)

Also, I do hope the Sealab DVDs have a sort-of tribute to Harry Goz. That would be nice. Oh, and commentaries on all episodes.

I'd like to see more ATHF DVDs and more SGC2C.

A Home Movies DVD would be good too. :)

I'd definetley buy it!

There isn't really any other series that I'd like to see on DVD except more ATHF, SGC2C, and a Hom Movies DVD. (I'd like season sets. :D :D :D )

Okay...I don't know what the hell you're talking about...and Scholastic is a book company. But, anyways, Time-Warner has the rights to a HM DVD. Personally, I don't want Warner to do the HM set...since they SUCK at collection sets (no scene selections...WTF??)...but they have the rights!...

that's right. Scholastic is the parent company of Soup2Nuts and they distribute their own material, and unlike the other Adult Swim originals which are the property of Cartoon Network and are distributed by them as such, Home Movies is a 3rd party show they don't own and thus can't distribute.

No, it just means either Scholastic has to do it themselves (hopefully not, considering that they probably don't have the slightest clue how to put together a DVD set, unless they've done some educational videos or something, and they DEFINITELY wouldn't know how to market them) or else they have to strike a deal with a company that DOES have the know-how (personally, I think Rhino would be their best bet, but that's just me...).
WB can't distribute the show because they only have the TV rights, not the DVD rights, but that doesn't mean Scholastic can't farm out the DVD rights.

I figured that HM 1st season would be wrapped up in some kind of licensing hell but what about the new episodes? Didn't CN pick them up or did they simply purchase a batch of new episodes from soup2nutz (Scholastic)?

Rhino releasing HM? I dunno about that. As much as I like Rhino for their CD production, I haven't been deeply enamoured with their DVDs. A&E, the mind behind Monty Python's Flying Circus, The Saint, and The Avengers DVDs would probably be a better choice.

As far as current production goes, yes, HM is still made by Soup2Nuts. Maybe you can start a letter writing campaign to have Soup2Nuts bought by CN, but I doubt it'll happen because of HM's profitability at this point.

Scholastic should make HM DVDs.

After all, Tom Snyder Production (aka, Soup2Nuts) is owned by Scholastic. SO why wouldn't they make the DVDs? Also, from an unknown source, I heard they started a dvd, but don't have anyone to put it out. or something. sorry i cant back that up.

hmmm

This is all really confusing. I just hope they SOMEHOW put out a HM DVD.

Rights SUCK!

I bet they will find someone to do it, i just know they will!
